I applied through college or university and the process took a day - interviewed at KLA-Tencor in January 2012.

Interview Details – Kla tencor came for our campus placement . It offered us a package of Rs. 700000-800000 .
Interview consisted of :-

1) Written Test (75 minutes )

23 Objective Technical Questions from C++, C, OS, Data Structure.(Basically Output Prediction)
    2 Programming Questions
   10 Aptitude Questions

2) Technical Round (30 minutes)
Discussion on difficult questions of Written Test.

3) Programming Round (60 minutes)

4) HR Round (60 minutes)

Written test consisted of questions which were outside B.Tech scope . The expectation of interviewers is unnecessarily too high as KLA Tencor has bad training facility .
Some of the interview questions are size of virtual destructor, constructor , 4 byte pairing , virtual mapping in functions etc, Memory allocation , deallocation of objects and variables, recognition of error type (Stack Overflow, Linker Error, Compile Time error) etc.
Some of the cons for this company are :- 14 working hours/day , less increment in salary, worst interview process and unfair selection .

Interview Questions

  • Size of Virtual destructor, Constructor etc .   Answer Question
  • Identify error type whether stack overflow, linker error , compile time error or no error for constructor etc.   Answer Question

Migdal Ha`Emeq (Israel)

The process took a day - interviewed at KLA-Tencor in January 2010.

Interview Details – I had actually two interviews, one at the Technion during their demonstration and one at the company site.
The first one was very theoretical and very easy, few questions about OOP, what is abstract class, how do I use it, describing UML calss diagram of my example, why do I need to hold pointers to the abstract class in the list and not objects, where do I use virtual functions, do I know singleton and how to implement it.
The second interview was more difficult and talked mostly about synchronization and client-producer problems. The questions there were very unclear, they wanted me to tell what can be the problems and how I could solve them. During the interview few times they told me wrong things and some times tried to push me in the wrong direction after I did give them correct aswres!
I felt that the situation is not under my control, although I do know the matterial and give correct answers... So, I think the problem was rather with the way of the interview. After all, few times I showed them they don't know all the things and that they say wrong things and this I think wasn't too clever:)

Interview Questions

  • Here I will refer only to the second interview because the first one was really trivial.
    1) You have a plate with areas, some of them must be checked and the order of the check is given. Your maching has three operations: move to the cell, aquire the image, measure the image. How can you do it as efficiently as possible
      View Answer
  • Suppose, aquisition is much slowlier, what should be the k? How many threads?
and if verse vise? (here they also told me something wrong, they said that hardware is always slowlier than software and I told them that it is wrong!!!)
      View Answer
  • They asked me, based on function int SQRT(int) build function float SQRT2(int) that will return square root with three digits after the point.   View Answers (2)
