Audit Intern Interview

Audit Intern
Dallas, TX

I applied through college or university and the process took 2 days - interviewed at KPMG US in March 2014.

Interview Details – Prior to the interview, KPMG took me and a few other people to a nice dinner to become acquainted with each other. We played a trivia game that was fun and the interview was the next day. The interview was very casual with no direct questions. The man giving the interview was very laid back and just wanted to get a feel of my personality.

I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at KPMG US.

Interview Details – The interview process was quick considering what they were hiring for. I interviewed with a senior manager and a manager, both interviews lasted 30 minutes. The questions they asked were not situation or behavioral, they were personal. The interviews were stress free, I was able to be myself.

Interview Question – As long as you know yourself and what you want, you will do fine.   Answer Question

Tax Intern Interview

Tax Intern

I applied through college or university - interviewed at KPMG US in March 2014.

Interview Details – Applied through university career website. The first interview was with a partner. He was really nice and I liked him very much. The interview was for about 30 minutes, and I was surprised that he asked me only few questions (Maybe that was enough for him). The questions were pretty much behavioral. He asked me if I have any questions, and I asked few until time ran out. I think it was 15 minutes of me talking and 15 minutes of him talking. I got a phone call in 3-4 business days about second round of interview at the office. I interviewed with 2 partners there. It was same idea - no technical questions. I think they want to see if they like you and you will be a good fit. UPDATE: The second round interview was on Friday, and I got a phone call on Monday morning from the recruiting manager telling me that I got the internship. I really like how the process with KPMG is super quick!

Interview Question – How do you manage your time?   Answer Question

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at KPMG US in February 2014.

Interview Details – I met a recruiter who then passed on my information to HR. I received a call about 6 months after meeting the recruiter at a career fair. She asked if I would meet the academic requirements and a quick and professional hiring process occurred for the next month.

Interview Question – The second interviewer on my in person interview asked very concise questions that were technical. Like please describe your involvement in X. When I mentioned some of the techniques that were used in X he asked everything regarding who what where when and why surrounding X.   View Answer

I applied through college or university and the process took 1 week - interviewed at KPMG US.

Interview Details – I applied through college or university and the process took about a week. The first interview was on campus with a manager. I met him at a networking event the week before so it was more of a conversation then a interview. The next day I got invited to second rounds. Second rounds was different this year then in the past. Instead of the usually three 1:1 interviews, second rounds only consisted of one 2:1 interview with a partner and senior manager.

Interview Question – Why audit over tax or advisory? Why KPMG? What role do you take on in a group?   Answer Question

Audit Intern Interview

Audit Intern
Chicago, IL

I applied through college or university and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at KPMG US.

Interview Details – I was contacted for an on-campus interview. The interview took only 30 minutes. The senior manager I interviewed with was quite personable, and the recruiter from our school was and has been quite helpful throughout. I was declined for a second interview, heard in a week.

Interview Question – What have you heard about the other big 4?

I found this question strange. He did say that he only asked because he doesn't know anything about the others.
