    Interview Details

Interviewed with the supervisor and director, took about an hour, it was very laid back, no specific accounting questions. The director seemed to be very occupied with other high priority issues that were going on at the time so mainly interviewed with the supervisor she was a nice young lady.

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Kinder Morgan in May 2014.

    Interview Details

I was contacted by a Kinder Morgan Corporate Recruiter for a Project Manager position and we scheduled an on-site interview.

The address provided by the recruiter was off by over 5 miles. I am glad I check through Google Maps a day prior the interview and realized the address was not accurate. The recruiter did not seem to care about the mistake.

I applied online – interviewed at Kinder Morgan.

    Interview Details

Approached initially by email to schedule a phone interview. Advised via email of my advancement and then to schedule of personal interview. A small office within the Argo, IL, terminal. Very laid back and personal with a mix of both males and females. Due to the nature of the industry, security is tight, but a smooth process.

    Interview Questions
    • Very casual interview. Most difficult question was desired salary in which I had no basis to go off. I was able to delay my answer twice and was later given the yearly salary range for the position without requesting.   Answer Question

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Kinder Morgan in March 2013.

    Interview Details

I met them at a career fair at my school where I handed them my resume. I received an email saying that I was a preferred candidate and I was encouraged to apply. I applied online and they contacted me for an interview. I went to there job site to interview. There site is a little bit off the beaten path and is a bit hard to find. All they do is tell you the address of the location; they believe as an engineer you should be able to find the location, So read up on directions and don't be late!

    Interview Questions
    • Asked mostly behavioral questions. A few questions they asked are, How do you handle conflict? When was a time you noticed a coworker not following safety regulations, and what did you do?   Answer Question

    Environmental Compliance Specialist Interview

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Kinder Morgan in January 2013.

    Interview Details

Went through an initial phone screening (typical resume-based questions) before coming in for an office interview with potential supervisor and additional staff member. Interview consisted of ten questions with generic interview questions (greatest strength, weakness, challenges). Also asked what I thought of environmental regulations and if I disagreed with any. A lot of ethical based questions and questions related to difficult clients. Second interview was with Compliance VP and potential supervisor. Another 10 questions. These were more difficult and had to do with interactions with team members, more ethical questions, examples of difficult interactions with clients. See examples interview questions below. I definitely left the interview feeling blind sided and didn't expect a call back. Big learning opportunity though!

    Interview Questions
    • 1.) How do you feel about describing complex technical issues to someone without a technical background?
2.) Compare yourself to a Microsoft Office program and tell us why.

This second question really pissed me off because it totally threw me off and there was no way I could have prepared for it.

    Engineering Interview

The process took 2+ monthsinterviewed at Kinder Morgan in October 2011.

    Interview Details

I was interviewed by two engineers, a drilling engineer and the head recruiter. They were reasonably nice. Most of the interview questions were personal aptitude questions, and situation resolution questions. Almost nobody went to their information session; I would recommend doing so, it gives you one on one time with them.

Smile throughout the interview, do not be frantic. I did not think the interview went badly, but the drilling engineer began suppressing laughter at one of my responses. I knew that was where it all ended, I still don't know what I said. Ultimately, they picked another one of my classmates. Maybe it was for the best, although it was a very nice sounding company.

I think they took too long to get back to the candidates, even if they were not picked for internships. It took two months before I got word, it would have been nicer if the let-down had been more immediate.

    Engineering Interview

I applied online. The process took a dayinterviewed at Kinder Morgan in October 2010.

    Interview Details

I received a request to schedule an interview and I chose a time. That was my only contact with the company other than the interview. I was interviewed by two different people. One was an engineer, the other was an HR person. It was a standard behavioral interview. It appeared that they were really trying to determine how much I was interested in working in the field and if I would enjoy living in a small town. Many questions revolved around where I had lived and what those communities were like.

    Engineering Internship Interview

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Kinder Morgan in October 2009.

    Interview Details

I applied online through my university professional development services, and received word that there would be an interview. The night before, they had an Information Session to give us an idea of what the company was like. We also met the company representatives (2) that would be interviewing us the next day.

On the day itself, I met the two people from the day before and the interview started. The initial conversation was nice because we had a common topic - yesterday. But after that, it wasn't much of a fun interview. They read off a question from their notebook, I answered it. No conversation.. The interviewers seemed more intent on writing down my answers than talking and looking at me. The lady also looked like she didn't want to be there. They asked all standard questions - teamwork, leadership, why engineering, why KM.
