District Manager Interview

District Manager

I applied through a recruiter and interviewed at Kindercare.

Interview Details – The phone interview was very comprehensive and informative. I was allowed more than sufficient opportunity to ask questions regarding the position. The recruiter was more knowledgeable about the position and organization than I expected including growth strategies and market potentials.

Interview Question – There were no unexpected or overly difficult questions, however, this was an initial phone screen.   Answer Question

I applied through other source and interviewed at Kindercare.

Interview Details – Applied several times with Kindercare. I had maybe a few interviews. I would see a position apply and hear nothing. Week/month latter see a similar job posted. Why don’t they just hire me? I have the education and experience for the positions I am applying for. Finally one day I got a response in a form of a letter from there attorneys saying I apply to much, they are not going to hire me and stop applying. Is this legal? Isn’t that discrimination? I would not recommend them.

Center Director Interview

Center Director

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Kindercare.

Interview Details – I applied online for a number of different Director positions and received an email for each. The emails were vague and didn't tell me which site the interviews were for (I wanted to know because some of the cities were more desirable than others). I asked the person I was in contact with and he refused to tell me. Even so, I set up a phone interview for one of the positions the following day. I prepared all night and woke up very early the next day for final preparations.

The scheduled time came...and passed. I waited two hours and the interviewer never called. Haven't heard a think since.

I haven't heard from them at all.

Interview Question – There were no questions.   Answer Question

Financial Analyst Interview

Financial Analyst
Portland, OR

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 2+ weeks - interviewed at Kindercare in June 2009.

Interview Details – The process was very long. It began with an initial phone discussion with an internal recruiter followed by a fairly long phone interview with the same recruiter. The next step consisted of a marathon session of in-person interviews in their corporate office with a variety of finance, operations and senior leadership staff. There were 3 individual interviews, 1 panel interview and 1 phone interview with an interviewer who was working from home that particular day.

Interview Question – The length of the in-person interview was the most difficult part. Also, several of the interviewers were unprepared and didn't have many questions to ask so I had to be more creative to explain why I was qualified for the position.   Answer Question

Assistant Director Interview

Assistant Director
Stafford, VA

I applied online and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Kindercare.

Interview Details – I originally found the job posting on Craigslist and it led me to their website to begin the application process. A few days later, I received an email requesting a phone interview. A week later, I had an in-person interview with the Director of that location. The Director wore sweat pants. Despite our contrasting wardrobe choices, the interview went very well and I progressed onto the final stage: an interview with the regional director. (This time the Director wore slacks.) The third interview went wonderfully. They even made comments like "Can you start tomorrow?" and "You are exactly what we've been looking for!" They said they would let me know the following week.

One week later, I sent a follow-up email to the Corporate Representative. No response.
4 days after the 1st email, I sent an email to the Director. No response.
4 days after the 2nd email, I sent an email to the Corporate Representative that gave me the initial phone interview. No response.

20 days after my 3rd interview, I received a phone call from the Corporate Representative telling me that they chose another candidate.

Interview Question – Very standard interview questions - no big surprises.   Answer Question

Infant Teacher Interview

I applied in-person and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Kindercare in September 2012.

Interview Details – It felt like the most difficult interview i had ever been in because i was interviewed by the director and district manager at the same time.

Interview Question – Almost all of the questions were difficult coming from the district manager because kindercare not only goes by state minimum standards, they also have accreditation so they expect more from their staff. I got nervous at some point.   Answer Question
