Interview Details – I applied online and after application it asked me to set up a interview. I went in for my interview a week later. When I went in at 11am and they told me to come in at 1pm! I was upset. I came back at 1pm and met with the store manager and hr manager...he didn't ask any questions. I was hired on the spot. I had to take a drug test and had to have a background check then two days later he called me for orientation.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in North Hollywood, CA Sep 2011 – Reviewed Jan 26, 2013
Interview Details – I got the call for the interview about 2 weeks after I applied, the interview appointment was a week later and yet another week later I had the job. I didn't have a regular interview she basically confirmed my schedule, asked if I was good at math, and if I had cashier or sales experience. When it was it over she told me I could start as soon as the received the drug test results. They probably would have hired me even if I wasn't good at math, they were so desperate for cashiers.
Interview Question – I had very few questions so I guess the most unexpected one was "Are you good at math?" since I've actually never been asked that at a job interview. Answer Question

All applications are online, don't bother calling to check up. If they even consider you, they'll call you.
They hire on spot, so if you're not on the first interview, chances are less likely you'll get a 2nd.
Interview Question – Nothing really, difficult. if I had to choose, it'd be "when have you gone beyond your duty to help a customer?" Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No negotiation.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Philadelphia, PA Jun 2011 – Reviewed Apr 7, 2012
Interview Details – All applications are to be completed online, and once the application is complete you wait for a manager from the store to contact you. I believe it was about a week or so between my completion of the online application and contact with a manager. I was brought in for an interview with the front end manager, and was told I would need a second interview with the manager of the store. The first interview was just a basic looking over of my application, my availability, experience, etc. The interview with the store manager was the job offer, $7.25 pending I passed the drug test and background check. My advice to anyone applying for this job is make eye contact and smile, that could make or break you in any job interview.
Interview Question – Why do you want to work for Kmart? Answer Question
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Philadelphia, PA Feb 2011 – Reviewed Feb 25, 2012
Interview Details – Ok, so getting into Kmart is an easy process. First I filled out the application online in early January and did not hear anything back from them. So I called them in the middle of February and the HR manager told me to come in for an interview the following Monday. You must call because they usually don't call people. I went in for the interview they make you wait in the employee break room for it seem like for ever. Then they call you back one by one to get interviewed by the store manager and the HR manager. The interview wasn't really an interview they both just told you what was expected and that you will be being paid minimum wage. They make you fill out all these papers and watch videos. Depending on the time of your interview they might start training you that day.
Interview Question – None it was more of an informative interview they asked you did you know it was a minimum wage job and your availability. View Answer
