Systems Engineer Interview

Systems Engineer

I applied through college or university and the process took 2 days - interviewed at Lockheed Martin.

Interview Details – Lockheed comes to campus and gives an info session. At the info session you network with the recruiters and turn in your resume. They'll call you for an on campus interview. If you pass the on campus interview they'll call you in for an on site interview if not they won't bother notifying you.

Interview Question – Most questions depend on your resume. They mostly ask you questions about your experience and how those experiences would help in a systems engineering role.   Answer Question

I applied online and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Lockheed Martin in January 2009.

Interview Details – The interview process was stressful because there were at least three people in the room and each person had their own opinion of you so if you impressed one or two you might not have impressed the other.

Senior Systems Administrator Interview

Senior Systems Administrator

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 3 days - interviewed at Lockheed Martin.

Interview Details – I was contacted by a recruiter and set up for an interview about a few days later. The interviewer called me on his cell phone in traffic during his drive home. The conversation was rather choppy because of his reception. During the interview, I was asked several questions, to which I answered quickly and correctly. He then said he would make his recommendation and let the recruiter know as soon as possible. The following day, the recruiter contacted me and said that the interview didn't go as well as I had assumed. I mentioned that I answered all of his technical questions correctly, even though he unprofessionally asked me while driving home and really didn't pay attention to my answers. The recruiter then laughed and said that he has been having the hardest time trying to fill this position since every possibly candidate has been rejected regardless of how well they thought the interview went. How unprofessional and a waste of time.

Interview Question – What was the most difficult task you've encountered in your past experience? How did you work through it?   Answer Question

I applied through an employee referral and the process took a day - interviewed at Lockheed Martin.

Interview Details – The interview went by like a blur. It started out with breadfast then an overview of the company. The interview process is two hours with 4 interviewers. Half an hour each. In that half an hour, they talk about what their department does and ask me some questions mainly about my projects that I have done in school. Then it's lunch and a tour of the facility.

Multi Functional Financial Analyst Interview

Multi Functional Financial Analyst

I applied online - interviewed at Lockheed Martin in February 2013.

Interview Details – There was a dinner event the night before. You get to ask questions about Lockheed Martin/finance division and they are observing you at the same time. Also there were hiring managers that you will be interviewing with the next day. It is a chance to make a positive first impression and in a way it is a pre-interview before the main interview. You also get to sign up for interviews for different positions. The next day was a full day event with getting a tour of a facility and listening to presentations about the ECDP and FLDP program. Then you have interviews with the hiring managers for several different positions within the company. They ask questions from a list and write your answers down. The questions throughout the interviews were all behavioral.Overall it was a good experience but a bit disorganized since they gave the schedule at the last minute . Also I didn't receive any email whether I was offered a job.

Interview Question – Tell me a time when the outcome was unfavorable?, What are the processes you have improved?   Answer Question

I applied through college or university and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Lockheed Martin.

Interview Details – Position listing on campus recruiting site was for a general position with subsequent specialization. After applying, I interviewed on campus and was told that I was not interviewing for any positions, only that I could potentially be contacted if there was an opening in the specialization I specified. Interviewer asked nothing but behavioral questions and wrote down all of my answers. Was told I could expect to hear back within a month or two, but never heard back, even after numerous follow-ups.

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Lockheed Martin in November 2012.

Interview Details – Initially applied to the program through employee referral. Knew a guy in a sector, so I got an interview for the position. 2 day trip. First day there were presentations, lunch provided at the facility, and dinner at the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Studios Orlando, FL. Second day there were presentations and interviews for half the day, and a tour of the facilities for the other half of the day. The interviews were panel style, with one hiring manager from each area, one current employee in the ELDP program, and one HR rep.

Systems Engineer Interview

I applied through college or university and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Lockheed Martin in April 2012.

Interview Details – They held a information session at my university, and called a few people for interviews on campus the next week. I asked if there was going to be one interview, or if they were going to make this into a three part thing. I asked this because they seemed to really like me in the interview. After that interview was done, i got a call a couple weeks later for another interview, which is the opposite of what they said would happen. The first interview was just basic things like do you like to work in a group or by yourself, and how you felt about systems engineering. Also which would be the field you would be most interested in, from the system engineers position. The second interview basically went over my resume again and asked for any extra curricular activities and/or side projects i've done that can match with electrical engineering. I was told if i pass the second interview, then a third interview would be done.

Interview Question – The most difficult question for me was do you do extra things aside from school or worked on any project. I'll be honest, and say I focus a lot on school and I dont have time to play with things that aren't related to my school work. It felt cheap trying to take things I did before school and try to pretend they were engineering related.   Answer Question

I applied online - interviewed at Lockheed Martin in December 2012.

Interview Details – Lockheed Martin does behavior interviews. I am not a fan of these. Typically they interveiw 3-4 employees for a position. The process is very long and drawn out.

Interview Question – You have to be able to think on your feet when answering behavioral interviews. Come prepared with good stories to situaitons you have encountered in the past.   Answer Question
