Application Details

I applied online. The process took 2 days - interviewed at Lowe's in May 2014.

Interview Details

They start off by introducing themselves. They ask about your job experience. The questions are the same no matter which department you are applying for. Mostly, it's about how you handle bad situations and how good you are at managing customers. They are "Tell me about a time when" questions. Then the interview is over. If you're selected, there is normally a second interview with a manager. Then you get an offer.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Lowe's in February 2014.

    Interview Details

I was called by the person who works human resources and had a mini interview over the phone with him. He asked why I applied for the position, what experience I have in customer service, why I should be considered for a job. I answered honestly and carefully, and I got an interview in.
We met up in a couple of days and he interviewed me. After that, the manager of the store interviewed me as well.
They told me to come back again and that was when they both told me that I gave off a very nice impression and they'd love to have me work for them.
I was scheduled to come back in a week to orientation with a group of people that hired in for other departments.
I also took an oral drug test and did some computer training before I was on the floor.

Applied online, was called for an interview after two weeks or so. I was interviewed by the HR person and then by the store manager, both of whom were really nice and easy to talk to. It was a very comfortable interview with a lot of back and forth and conversation, I was able to get to know them as people rather than them just asking me job related questions.

When I was hired as a seasonal cashier it went by really fast. They called me and asked me by phone if I would be willing to work at the Outside Lawn and Garden register. I said yes then they gave me an interview for the following day. I met the HR manager...very professional and asked me the "Tell me about a time when..." questions. Then I talked to the store manager and he gave me the job right on the spot! Now when I applied for the permanent position...it was exactly the same....with the same questions...same deal only it took 2 to 3 weeks to hear back
