I applied in-person. The process took a dayinterviewed at Marriott.

I responded to a post on Craigslist. I had my resume in hand and took it to the company within 1 hour of the post. I was interviewed on the spot and given the job. The interview questions were primarily about my work experience and whether or not I could commit to staying with the company. I was honest and said that if I found the company to lack in values I would not feel like I needed to stay.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Marriott.

    Interview Details

I applied online and received a called maybe two weeks later. I walked in the hotel. It was very elegant, lively, and simply beautiful. The Operation Manager conducted the interview in the lobby. It was very conversational, we even shared a couple of laughs. Questions weren't anything to complicated. Give lots of customer service examples about how you dealt with unfavorable situations. I think she loved that I had tough skin and was able to brush things off and keep rolling in past experiences. So after our interview, she checked to see if her manager was available for my second interview. I went to interview with her and they were the exact same question...easy :) I asked questions about the company and some day-to-day ops. After the interview I met with the Operations Manager and I signed a few papers about background checks and drug screening and I was on my way. I had the position, all I had to do was make sure my drug test, references, and background checks were clear. One week later I got an email saying, "Welcome to the Team!"

The process took a weekinterviewed at Marriott in October 2014.

The process was simple. I met with the Assistant Manager first, she called the GM and Front Desk Supervisor about 15 mins into the interview. They like when you ask a lot of questions and are customer service driven. I got an email about background check the same day I interviewed and a week later I got an offer letter via email.

They had a "career fair." Reviewed my resume and was interviewed on the spot. Nothing difficult. A lot of the questions are available online for typical interviews. They required a background check, which was done in two days and I received a phone call stating I would receive a formal email. The job was mine if I wanted it.

I applied online – interviewed at Marriott.

The general manager I interviewed with was incredibly friendly and professional. The process was quick and easy, and I heard back the same day. After working for a Carlson franchise, Marriott seems to be much more well organized and professional. The GM made sure I knew that there is plenty of room to grow and move around in the company.

Job offered starting at $10/hr. No negotiations. Talk as much as possible about past hotel experience and be big on customer service. It also helps if you can find common ground with the interviewer, like knowing the same people.

Long and tedious process. Call it being thorough or job security for overstaffed HR department. It is what it is. Came in for initial interview, then called back to meet with supervisor. Waited 45 min to then speak with front office manager.

They are going to ask you very specific questions. They are looking for answers that consist of the following: A situation or task, an action that you took, and the result of your actions. They'll usually have two people interviewing you, one asking the questions and the other writing down your answers. Be specific. They want details of an actual time that this happened, if you have names or job specific tasks, or anything like that use them. They will repeat the questions or ask for other examples if you didn't answer the way they wanted you too.

I applied in person, and in about a week, they called me to invite for an interview. The interview went really well. I felt at ease as if I was talking to a friend. The manager was awesome. She made me sit in an exercise chair. I thought it was funny :) Unfortunately, I never got a call back from them.

    Interview Details

I applied in person. Got a call later the same day to set up first interview for the next day. The first interview was with an assistant general manager. Interview went well and I was scheduled for the second interview. The second interview was set for the following week. The second interview was with the other assistant general manager. I was told there were two other candidates and I would hear back the next day. The next day I was offered the position pending drug screen and background check.
