The latter should not be much of a problem if you are thorough with the basics, though getting a good eLitmus score is the hard part. The job role included a combination of development and testing.

I applied online. The process took 2+ months - interviewed at McAfee in June 2012.

    Interview Details

I've submitted my application to their web site. After some time (2 months) I've been contacted by their HR and after their screening I've got a phone interview.

The interview was conducted by a couple of their engineers. Basically, they were walking through the list of skills in my resume, checking my knowledge on each of these topics. These questions were not hard, but rather easy.

For design patterns, they asked about Singleton.
For STL, they asked how STL is implemented.
When it comes to multithreading, questions were about problems regarding race conditions.
Other questions were about length of IP address and MAC address.
The final question was about what happens when someone visit some web address and how server redirects web browser.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a day - interviewed at McAfee in August 2010.

    Interview Details

The interviewer was very friendly & asked many good questions. Most were language questions on c++ & specially on pointers , data structures. Although the questions were not very tough, you will need to brush up a bit before the interview.

Most of the questions were from Effective C++ book series. Heard from friends that the work culture is very good & they do understand the need for work-life balance

the written test is arranged by e-litmus for which u might find sample questions on internet.
their were 60 questions in 2hr 30 mins(20-quant,20 logical,20-english).Quant was very tough equal to CAT level.
So even attempting 5 correctly will qualify u for next round.. i would suggest to start with logical then english then quant.
Before this e-litmus test their was a technical objective test with 20 questions in 30 minutes which is
failrly simple.(general question on OS/give C program output etc.)
Interviews they were mainly checking ur design capabilities. They asked me to design classes for Minesweeper and asked to write code for checking malicious code in e-mail.
