    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took a week. I interviewed at McGladrey LLP.

    Interview

I was called within a few days of submitting my resume for an in-office interview. I met with a manager for an interview that lasted over an hour. It was very casual and we mostly talked about my schooling and current job and my attitude towards public accounting. I received a call two days later with an offer with a week to accept. They had a partner follow up to see if I had any questions.

    Interview Questions

    Negotiation

Unwilling to negotiate for an internship.

    Interview

I connected with McGladrey at my University career fair. I did an on campus interview with a full time employee who was not affiliated with HR. The interview was very conversational with behavioral based questions. On a scale of 1 to 5 rank a certain quality.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at McGladrey LLP in October 2014.

    Interview

There was only one interview. So, I met with the Tax Manager and we had a conversation type interview. It was really relaxed, and I think they were seeing if I could just sit down and have a conversation. There were some questions, but they were all very basic and expected.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took a week. I interviewed at McGladrey LLP (Los Angeles, CA) in October 2014.

    Interview

Very Relaxing. Conversational interview. Basic questions. All the candidates were welcomed in the board room of the office after being given an office tour. We then split up each into a room and Partners and managers would come by each room and interview for about 30 minutes until another came by.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took a week. I interviewed at McGladrey LLP in October 2014.

    Interview

Interviews were all very casual. Two directors and one partner. Each interviewer was laid back and just wanted me to "tell a little bit about myself." I really think they were just looking for someone who could carry a conversation without sounding like an idiot. There was nothing intimidating about the process at all.

    Interview Questions

    • Nothing difficult. Tell me about yourself? Why do you want tax?   Answer Question

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at McGladrey LLP (Phoenix, AZ) in October 2014.

    Interview

Overall, easy interview. They are more concerned with liking you than if you will make a good employee. The first in person interview was for the wrong position. No one would fess up to how that happened. They requested a second in house interview two weeks later, where I met with the same department and was asked the same questions.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at McGladrey LLP (Chicago, IL) in October 2014.

    Interview

If you interviewed at McGladrey then you must've interviewed at the big 4, and the other 8 large accounting firms. They're all the same, asking about your resume first and your elevator pitch, followed by 2-3 behavioral questions and some fit questions. There's 2 rounds, the first at your university, the second at the firm itself.

    Interview Questions

    • Q: Tell me a time when you were in a difficult position, and how did you resolve the situation   Answer Question

First round on campus interview was very laid back and conversational. On site visit consisted of three 30 minute interviews that were all very casual and conversational as well. Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at McGladrey LLP (Seattle, WA) in October 2014.

    Interview

The interview process was pretty easy and comparable to other firms. We talked about experiences and personal life things. Felt pretty professional but more of a conversation rather than an interviewer. I had 2 different interviewers in their office. Overall the interview lasted may 1 hour plus or minus.

    Interview Questions

    • What areas of tax practice do you need more development on and what is one that you could train others on?   1 Answer

    Negotiation

There was some negation over salary and initial PTO. Wasn't too hard to ask for more.

    Intern Interview

    Interview

I met the firm at a career fair initially applying for an internship postion. I ended up interviewing with the firm on campus and was accepted to their leadership program. At the program the firm interviewed for internship positions. The interviews were certainly a surprise to the candidates as the interviews were not shown explicitly on the schedule.

    Interview Questions

    • Not very technical questions. The most difficult questions for me were behavioral questions, but with a few good stories in mind they become easier to answer.   Answer Question
