    Interview

Use of word bots to select candidates. Use non employees for the first phone interview. Second phone interview with hiring manager went well so I thought. Used words like you sound like a perfect fit. Your exactly the type we are looking for ect. Only to end of with the oldest cliche in the interviewing world " we still have tons of other people to review so we will get back to you". Only to send a bot letter 2 days later to say I was not selected...only to see the position open up again one month later. Total BS!

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at MetLife (New York, NY) in July 2015.

    Interview

After posting my application online and receiving an employee referral I received an email from an internal recruiter to set up a 15 minute call to discuss my background and how it relates to the position. The recruiter was very professional and cordial during the call in which we discussed my skills and experience, covered some boilerplate employment and background issues, and I asked for clarification of what the hiring manager was looking for in the ideal candidate. The recruiter could not directly answer my question but he did suggest what the hiring manager may be looking for based on his prior experience with the manager. Near the end of the call the recruiter clearly explained the following three steps of the manager's hiring process (writing sample, phone interview with manager, panel interview with company) and told me what to expect of each step. I received the writing exercise later in the day and responded to the hiring manager and recruiter within the 48 hour time frame provided in the instructions. The following business day I was informed by the recruiter that the manager appreciated my time but was not interested in setting up an interview, I asked for feedback regarding this decision but no explanation was provided.

    Interview

Through external hiring company, there were 3 rounds, 1 HR screening, 1 Sr BSA technical, then in-person with hiring manager and a video interview. All the interviewers were nice and professional. The scheduling was a pain. They would ask for availability and then reply when most of those days had past. This happened a few times. Once they scheduled an interview super early in the day without regard to the timezone they were looking to hire in.

    Financial Services Representative Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 daysinterviewed at MetLife (New York, NY) in May 2015.

    Interview

Had an initial phone interview, which consisted of very general questions, and then had to complete candidate testing. The testing asked questions like 'how long have you lived in your neighbourhood', 'how are you currently involved in the community', 'how many contacts do you have on your phone, fb, linkedin', etc. I did not pass the testing as I had to put everywhere that I am new to the US and have only been in NY for a couple of weeks. They like people who have a lot of contacts in the area they will be working in so that you can sell to them. The fact that I had inlaws in another state did not matter as I was applying to sell financial products in New York and my license would work in NY only.

    Interview

First I got an email to schedule a phone interview. The interview was mostly behavioral questions. Then they wanted to schedule a virtual interview with two hiring managers. I thought there will be technical questions but they were mostly just behavioral and problem solving questions.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took a weekinterviewed at MetLife in April 2015.

    Interview

Phone interview only. It was by HR person that read from a script, had absolutely no idea what she was talking about when it came to skills required for the position. She asked what software packages I was familiar with (checked them off, was clueless when I mentioned another that could potentially be beneficial) followed by 6-8 or so behavioral questions.

    Interview

Had a first round of interview with the recruiter. After a week was scheduled with a technical interview which went very well. Later I did not receive any response from them. I followed up few times and finally they called up and said that they are looking only for Green card holders. They should have informed about this earlier and not wasted my time. They know already that I am H1-B associate and still continued with my interview process.

I applied online. The process took 6 weeksinterviewed at MetLife (Durham, NC) in March 2015.

    Interview

Phone screen with company recruiter and an on-site interview which seemed to go well. I felt I was probably a good fit, definitely worthy of further exploration from both sides. Then....crickets for a month before the dreaded notification "we are pursuing other candidates". Can only guess why as I received no feedback. I suspect I am too old or too expensive, or both.
