I reached out to them via a campus recruiter. Heard back quickly. Scheduled a quick phone call interview, which was mostly behavioral. Asked a few basic questions such as heap vs stack and java vs C++. Then heard back a month later that they were not interested.

1 30 minute on campus interview followed by a 4 hour on site interview. The 4-hour interview was really 4, 45 minute interviews with 15 minute breaks in between. 3 of the interviews were technical, because I was applying for a Developer position, and 1 was non-technical. All of the questions were pretty standard. Have you ever worked as part of a team? Tell me a good and bad experience that you've had as part of a team. The technical questions were also pretty easy. Convert the letters in an excel spreadsheet to numbers (base 26). 2 questions about binary trees as well. My advise, don't forget null, and show up on time, and it shouldn't be too bad.

I applied in school career fair, and got an interview a month later. A University recruiter came to my University. He introduced himself and the internship program the day before interview day in a small meeting.
During the interview, he asked me a question related to strings and pointers.
After that, we talked about testing and refinement of the previous program.
Another problem is about linked list.

Was contacted by campus recruiter, did in person interview which was followed up with an invitation for an on campus interview. That interview consisted of five one hour meetings with various team members within the team I was applying for. The interviewers were polite and offered helpful feedback throughout the process.

Networked with a PM at a Professional Development Night hosted by SWE. Followed up with her with a thank you note and she responded saying she forwarded my resume to my universities recruiter. Few weeks later got an invitation to an on campus interview. Waited about 3 weeks after the interview until I got invited back for a final round interview in Redmond. Have yet to hear back!

I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeksinterviewed at Microsoft.

    Interview Details

I was approached by Microsoft recruiter and after several email and phone discussions, a video interview is scheduled with the Director. The Director cancelled out at the last minute and had to reschedule. During the interview, the Director seems to be not interested on my technical and processes skillset, but how I can "fight the battle" with other teams for ensuring they follow Microsoft security protocol. It seems to me that she is looking for someone to fight HER battle.

After the interview, I heard nothing from the recruiter. No email. If I didn't get the job, that's OK, just send me an email courtesy. I was expecting a much more professional recruiting process from a company like Microsoft, but it is actually worst than other much smaller companies I have interviewed with.
