Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (New York, NY) in April 2014.

Interview

Interviewing Process was good as it provides enough opportunities to meet the potential team members or cross functional teams that you'll be working with. Concurrently, helps the hiring managers and team leads to assess the candidate too. 1. Initial Phone Interview with the Hiring Manager 2. Follow up in person interviews with the cross functional team leads and the head of the org. 3. HR round of interview 4. In person interview to meet with the CIO of the division.

Interview Questions

  • Q: Technical business / product knowledge and skills related questions. No situational questions.   Answer Question

Negotiation

Salary Negotiations were done by the staffing agency. The position and the reporting manager negotiations were done by me directly with the lead of the team.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (New York, NY) in September 2010.

    Interview

MS recruiter called me and setup a phone screening (30 mins). After a day, the recruiter informed me for 3 phone interviews with 3 people from the department (30 mins each). The interviewers were very pleasant and friendly. They made sure that I was comfortable, ensured that I understood the role correctly. Some of the interviewers were highly technical and some were more big picture personnel. After a week, they asked me to come in for a in-person interview where I met with another 3 people over couple of hours. Overall, I felt pretty good about the interview process and liked my chances. After a couple of days the HR called to say that the job is mine.

    Interview Questions

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (New York, NY) in February 2010.

    Interview

There was a phone screen for an hour by 1 person. It was moderately difficult. This was followed 1 week later by 1:1 with 5 folks (each 45 min to an hour) in increasing order of seniority. 3 of the interviews were difficult with detailed probing questions and follow-ups. It was fun and a good experience. All had tech (basic and difficult) and business questions.
