Program Manager Interview

Program Manager
Westwood, MA

I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at NSTAR in April 2014.

Interview Details – I had two interviews face to face with NSTAR and the way I was handled from HR, to sales, to engineering and management was exceptional. They described the job I interviewed for, in complete detail in regards to the technical, administrative and other functional tasks/duties and they demonstrated down to the personal level about how much they care about the people they hire not just as employees but as individuals with needs and wants. The personnel I interviewed with want people to join NSTAR as members of an extended family for the long term in order to be comfortable to operate at their best. Last but not least, they offer good benefits and a pension plan, which is rear in the corporate world these days. They also offered advancement opportunities and a clear vision about the future of the company and how one could be inclusive to their vision for career growth.

Interview Question – How I can handle the type and amount of workload that was presented and explained in high degree of detail by the hiring manager who was thorough enough to go into the functional and timing aspects of it piece by piece.   View Answer

Westwood, MA

I applied online - interviewed at NSTAR in August 2012.

Interview Details – The entire interview process was extremely professional. It was by far one of the best interviewing environments I had ever experienced. The HR representative and the program hiring manager seemed to work flawless together and were actually prepared having read my resume in advance and having a set of questions geared specifically to my background from which they worked off of together. I was offered the position but unfortunately had to turn it down due to personal circumstances. I would definitely welcome the opportunity if I were seeking a similar role in the future to look into this company.

Interview Question – Usually the questions regarding your strengths...I always find it difficult to speak about my strengths without trying to come across arrogant.   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – Personal unforeseen circumstances

Environmental Affairs Intern Interview

Environmental Affairs Intern
Westwood, MA

I applied through college or university and the process took 1 week - interviewed at NSTAR in August 2010.

Interview Details – The interview was set up through an adviser at my university. I received an email from the principal engineer in the department to set up the interview. I met with a senior environmental engineer and junior engineer for a more informal discussion about my experience at school and career interests. Then I spoke with two of the other interns about their experiences so far. I was offered a job within the week.

Interview Question – Most difficult question for me is always about telling the interviewers about myself.   Answer Question
