There were 75 guys and gals 10 got interviews and 2 of us showed up in Atlanta. Safety is big. How do you live a safe life? Come well prepared. If you used drugs in last 5 months dont bother. Honesty is a must. I showed up 30 mins early and only two guys were there. They have train masters watching your every move all day taking notes.

I applied online. The process took 2+ monthsinterviewed at Norfolk Southern Railway in March 2015.

    Interview Details

    The interview was fairly easy.

about 20 people were brought in to interview for the job. (don't be late)

This was an all day event (8am-5pm)

First part of the day we were told about the job & salary

Then we were required to take a test.

Candidates that scored high on the test were called back into the room and were able to interview for the position.

A week later I was called and told that I got the job but had to complete a drug test.

Long process but one of the best interviews I had because it was very informative.

Put in my app, waited for 2 weeks got a call for the assessment portion of the hiring process. Went in to the session they sit you down tell you how bad it can be on your family and how you will be gone a lot but the pay is good. Then they send you on a break and when everyone comes back in they issue the tests. after the test you break again and in my case they posted nine names out of the twenty that tested for follow up interviews. I was lucky enough to get an interview felt like it went well just be honest and down to earth, show them you are a worker. They said we will call in 3-5 business. they waited 5 days lol but i got an email that said congrats we wish to offer you conditional employment. then you complete a background check and a physical. which tacks another 2-3 weeks

I applied online. The process took a dayinterviewed at Norfolk Southern Railway in March 2012.

    Interview Details

Two hour long presentation going over job specifics (both positive and negative). Given break so those who didn't like what the job entails can leave without hurting their chances for other positions. Given test that consisted of reading comprehension, mechanical skills and personality test. Waited around 90 minutes to post who would be given an interview (around 150 started out and 30 made it to interview). Interview was simple were pretty much rehashed from the online questions that I had already answered in the application.

The process took a dayinterviewed at Norfolk Southern Railway in January 2009.

    Interview Details

Filled out background information (10 years, very thorough). Took IQ test and Personality Test. After each test everyone left the room and only the candidates that passed were asked to take the next test. After testing individuals were called to do a very brief panel interview. Typical questions. After the panel interview everyone was sent home and told they would here back in a couple of weeks if a job was offered.
