I applied online. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Northwestern Mutual.

    Interview

The interview was very straightforward and weighs heavily on your goals and your network of friends and family. I decided not to proceed to the final round because selling insurance is not what I intend to do out of college. It is a lucrative field but can be very difficult for those who have a limited network.

I applied online. The process took a dayinterviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Melville, NY) in December 2014.

    Interview

Was requested to come out to Melville office to interview for a spring semester financial representative internship in mid/late December. Met with a young woman who interviewed me. Pretty basic questions. I follow up our interview 1 day later with an email, to which I get an automatic response saying she is out of the office until the first week of January. I never did get a reply from her, and never heard anything at all from them. Very very unimpressed. Even if they did offer it to me, I would not have taken it.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ weekinterviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Austin, TX) in December 2014.

    Interview

Formal interview in the office. Very laid back, interviewer was very nice and didn't mind chit chatting about hobbies and small talk. All behavior based questions. At the end I was given project 100 like everyone else and then it seemed like the interviewer was trying to persuade me to work for them.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at Northwestern Mutual in November 2014.

    Interview

The interview was straightforward. Upon sitting down with their Recruiting Director, she explain that her goal was to get to know me better, personally and professionally. I was first asked to introduce myself, talk about my background, as well as disclose of my family background, parents' occupation and if I had any siblings. Then, I talked about my professional qualities that can be best suited for Northwestern Mutual. Lastly, the interviewer asked what my hobbies were. Once my part ended, the Recruiting Director went over what Northwestern Mutual was, what their mission and vision are, and what the position entails. In the end, I told that my chances for gaining a second interview was slim because I am a recent college graduate, the only thing holding me back really.

    Interview

I only did the initial phone interview and was asked basic interview questions. Mostly general questions about my resume and why I want the job. I was asked a few behavioral questions, like explaining a difficult decision I made and what book I'm reading. The interviewer was very approachable and easy. She said that the next step is another phone interview and if that goes well, they will fly me in for an in-person interview.
