    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 daysinterviewed at OpenTable (San Francisco, CA).

    Interview

There were two days of interviews. On the first day, I interviewed with my potential manager and the next level up manager who happened to recruit me. On the second day, I interviewed again with my manager and then with the person whose role I'd be taking over. All went smoothly.

I applied online – interviewed at OpenTable.

    Interview

had one phone interview with recruiter, then another with someone in the marketing department and then the last interview was with 4 or 5 people in marketing in the actual office in San Francisco. Everyone was friendly and down to earth, questions were not too difficult. The office itself is cool. The entire interview process took about a week or so depending on your schedule

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral – interviewed at OpenTable.

    Interview

Two sets of interviews. First set had two 30 minute interviews, second set had three 30 minute interviews (3 people - 2 of the same as the first round). None of them were particularly difficult. i was asked about my prior work experience, why I thought the job would be a good fit, strengths/weaknesses, etc. No curveball questions.

    Interview Questions

    • The most difficult question I was asked was probably to name an experience where things didn't go as planned (aka failed) and how I turned around from it. (again, not a rare question, but difficult to answer).   Answer Question

    Talent Acquisition Coordinator Interview

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ weekinterviewed at OpenTable.

    Interview

I was referred by someone within the company (OT is big on employee referrals), and someone followed up with me within two days of my resume submission. I had a phone interview with a recruiter for 45 minutes, during which we went over preliminary details about me and the job (normal screening) and then we scheduled an in person interview for the following week. The interview scheduling and confirmation were both clear and quick, which was great. I was greeted with 5 minutes of my arrival to the office, and then I interviewed for about 40 minutes with three people who were relevant to the position. I heard back right after my interview, and was followed up with the next day as well. Overall it was a very pleasant process.

    Negotiation

I told the recruiter my baseline for compensation, and I was offered well above that.

    Inside Sales Representative Interview

    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online – interviewed at OpenTable (Boulder, CO) in February 2014.

    Interview

Very disorganized. Had scheduled phone interview times with me, only to not have them show up at the appointed time-had to resend the confirmation email they had sent to me. Then after the interview finally takes place, they assign this "homework' that went to further my suspicion that they have no respect for anyone's time.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at OpenTable (Los Angeles, CA) in August 2013.

    Interview

Three phone interviews and then an offer. I did not have to fly in to SF for interview.

    Interview Questions

    • They are looking for hunter, aggressive, challenger types. Filled out some silly questionnaire and took an online personality assessment. They didn't ask anything unusual, probably because they are the least creative people ever.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

Quick. I was made an offer and I accepted right away. I did try to negotiate because I figured it couldn't hurt, but it wasn't up for negotiation.

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeksinterviewed at OpenTable (San Francisco, CA) in August 2012.

    Interview

First round was a brief phone call, the second round was an in-person interview for 3 hours. I got a feeling that its one of the worst IT engineering places to work in the bay area. I just want to join the band of ppl at glassdoor who had horrid experience with the engineer aspect of this company. I would say even if you don't have a job don't go for the engineering team of this company, unless you wanna comprise and sacrifice your "SELF RESPECT"...thanks again glassdoor for letting me share my experience

Inside Sales Representative - Restaurant Development Group Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in San Francisco, CA
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at OpenTable (San Francisco, CA) in June 2012.

    Interview

Phone interview and in person interview in SF. Met with executive sales managers who were relaxed and asked questions to see the fit. After a week I received an offer via phone. It was a smooth process. The company doesn't follow typical interview process. They look at the past work experience in the restaurant industry either in the capacity of sales or operations.
