I was asked basic questions about my resume and experiences. After getting my offer letter it took a while for HR to get all my paperwork processed. During this time I had reached out to others in the organization to learn more about my project and I had done some online research.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at PSEG (Newark, NJ) in May 2015.

    Interview

I applied online. They called me in one week to schedule phone interview. This was a technical round. But questions were about general experience. Within a week I was called for a face to face interview. It was a 3 member panel. And they asked behavioural questions which should be answered in TASK format. To know what questions to prepare for goto PSEGs website and they have few sample questions. Followed by simple technical questions. The very next week they scheduled the face to face leadership interview. This was about my career goals and questions like what motivates me to work and what demotivates me etc

    Application

The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at PSEG.

    Interview

Applied online via the PSEG website. About 3 weeks after the submission of my cover letter and resume I was asked to come in for a face to face interview at the training center in Somerset, NJ. Two engineers took turns asking questions. Interview questions were divided was in 2 parts. Behavioral, where they ask how you would approach problems, personal experiences, and saftey. These must be answered in the STAR format. There was 3 of these questions. Following the behavioral, they present you with 2 technical questions. You are given a schematic to read and decipher or are asked to make design changes to an existing electrical control/power system. The entire interview takes about one hour. It took about 4 weeks for PSEG to get back to me after I went to the interview. After the offer is presented you have 4 days to accept. Your start date is pending until a background check, employment history check, and medical exam (done on site and results from urine test are given on the spot) are completed by a third party company. That process can take up to 5 weeks.

    Interview

for the contractor position, they just need a phone interview, they don't need person to go to the site for interview. That is very tricky. Looks very simple but after you come to the site to work, they treat you like a lower lever person.

    Technical Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at PSEG (South Plainfield, NJ) in March 2015.

    Interview

The interview was a two step process. First the HireView, which was used as a behavioral interview and a screen to a second round interview. The second round interview was not too challenging, and you got the feeling it was less about them grilling you, more like they were trying to see where they could best place you.

    Call Center Interview

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at PSEG (Edison, NJ) in September 2014.

    Interview

Step 1 hirevue online interview. 1 month later I recieved an email asking for me to take an aptitude test to see if my intellectual prowess was sufficient for the job. Step 2 The test was extremely hard ( I was for sure I had failed it) and was a timed test. Basically it was to see how well u could handle the actual job without having any training for it. After the test they either tell you they will be sending you an email regarding your job offer (which means you failed) or they tell u on the spot that u passed and to expect an email with instructions for the next step. Step 3 I had an interview with two of the lead managers in my field of potential employment. The question were typically STAR format (recent on job accomplishments and situational experience) then they had me listen to a live PSE&G inbound call and asked me to critique the PSE&G rep on his performance. After that they told me I was very pleasant to interview and to expect to be contacted regarding the next step. Step 4 CARCO background check. (This was the biggest pain in the butt) Beware if u don't have a paper trail of the things on your resume they will request every single thing and will report falsifying your resume if u can't prove everything. I had to fax CARCO 7 different supporting documents. Step 5 Urinalysis. They test you at either the Audubon pseg.medical or the Newark pseg.medical facility. I had drank alot of water and my urine was clear so they made me retest under supervised conditions. Step 6 A few weeks after I did everything I got an email with my start date.

    Interview Questions

    • Explain a time when u went above and beyond for a customer.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

For my job it was a set start rate of 15.60 per hour
