In order to get hired you have to show initiative. Get the number to the store and make sure to know the names of the Assistant manager and general manger. They have to go through a lot of applications so it helps if you make yourself known. When you go to the interview be prepared to go through two interviews with the assistant and general manager. They will ask for any restaurant experience but no matter what experience you have equate it to what they do.

    Interview Questions
    • Do you have a tattoo? Regardless of how much experience you bring to the table if your tattoo would be visible they will refuse to hire you. Be honest that you have them because it depends on the location. But I didn't expect it.   Answer Question

I expected the interview to be a whole lot more difficult than I thought. The interview was fairly easy. The GM made me feel very comfortable and acted as if she already knew me. I was hired on the spot but it did take about a month for me to actually come in and work.

Meet with several managers. Have to go online and fill out an application and you can call or come in to check the status of you application. Once that is done you should know weather they would like to follow up with an in person interview.

I applied online and got a call the next day to come in for an interview with one of their managers. The following week I went into my interview and the manager asked a couple questions about why I wanted to work there and it took all of 5 minutes. Then she said she'll call me if they want me to come in and interview with the main branch manager. She called me about an hour later and I scheduled to come in the next week. Interviewing with the head manager became a difficult because she had to leave for an emergency right when my interview was and I spoke with another manager and she said they liked me so much that they'll hire me, but they can't do it right now. I called two weeks later to schedule a meeting with the head manager again but there was no available time.

After applying online (the form was quite easy to use and took no time at all), I was called in for an interview around a week later; the shift manager sat me at a table, offered me a drink, reviewed my application, and asked a few questions that were generally very easy to answer about job experience and personal qualities. It was a very comfortable setting and casual feel, so it didn't feel as if there was any real pressure. Afterwards, I was told that I would be called regarding their hiring decision.

The manager was super rude. He definitely didn't care at all, I had an interview, and he wasn't nice at all. He never smiled, or anything. Never will I probably go back again.

I applied online - interviewed at Panera Bread in July 2014.

    Interview Details

I applied online and received a call about a month later for a interview. I was asked normal interview questions, nothing out of the ordinary. I was also asked quite a bit about the company. The Hiring Manager was very friendly and professional. I was then told more about the position and about Panera. How they donate to food banks or shelters nightly. I am hoping to hear back soon about the job and look forward to working for this company.

I got called in for a group interview with 6 other people and it lasted about 20 minutes. It was very unprofessional and uncomfortable. I got a second call a few days later for a one on one interview with the general manager and was told I would hear back in a few days. I never got a call.

I applied online. The process took 4 days - interviewed at Panera Bread.

    Interview Details

Applied online and got the call for an interview a few nights later. I was excited cause it seemed like a decent job. My interview was scheduled late at night, which was fine because it was the overnight shift. My phone had died so I didn't get the message that they had already filled the spot. It was disappointing that he didn't tell me at the door that the interview was off and instead I went through the entire process and felt confident about it only to get to my charged phone and hear the message. I felt like a complete idiot and I felt like they should have just been upfront with me instead of wasting mine and their time. A piece of advice to the company as well, it would be polite to interview all candidates that were scheduled before filling the spot.

I applied online - interviewed at Panera Bread.

    Interview Details

It was a typical online application with questions mostly pertaining to your availability and where to contact you. Got a phone call in a few days and scheduled for an interview. It was very casual at the Panera located closest to me and the manager and another associate gave the interview at one of the booths. They saw I hadn't much experience prior, but they were nice about it anyway. I did not receive the job, but they did call me back to let me know.
