Interview Details

I applied online, got a call a couple days later to set a time for an interview that we set after the weekend. I went in and was surprised that they asked pretty difficult questions that I wasn't prepared for, nor did I have the experience to give a proper answer (it would've been my first job). They had me answer questions one on one with two people, they switched places after the first finished. The reason I say the interview is average is because I wasn't prepared, but I could see it being an easy interview if you were prepared.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at PetSmart in April 2014.

Since moving to this area almost two years ago, I had previously gotten a bad impression of this PetSmart location. Cashiers openly use profanity, make fun of customers before they even walk out the door, or say almost nothing except for grumbling "Do you have a Pet Perks Card?". I figured that there were just a couple of bad apples, who would probably get fired or quit soon enough, and it could still be a decent place to work. I have previous experience at another pet store, other retail experience, and lengthy experience with dogs, snakes, and freshwater fish.

I applied multiple times for almost two years (while working at another store of a different company) and was finally called for an interview.

I was very disappointed. The store manager seemed as if he had just woken up from a nap. He was grouchy and appeared to be half-asleep. He clearly had not prepared for the interview at all. He asked me the same questions a couple of times - this appeared to lack of organization rather than some sort of technique. He basically criticized me for having a couple of short jobs in the past, despite me explaining that I had been a college student and my previous employers would not always work with my school schedule. I got the impression that was trying to "coast" through his day and get out of the place as soon as possible. I didn't feel as though he was genuinely enthusiastic about animals.

He said that they do second interviews, so if he didn't call me back the following week, I could go ahead and "pursue whatever other opportunities" I was looking into. He didn't call me. It was okay because I had no desire to work for him at that point.

This interview was for a new location, so the interviews were held at a local hotel. The interviewer was very nice and asked a few questions, mostly situational based. She also asked me a few times if I had any questions for her. This was my first ever interview and I choked on one of the questions which I think lost me the job. Overall though it was a good interview process, the interviewer did her best to make me feel comfortable and edge me in the right direction for answering her questions.

I applied online to Petsmart. I was called within a week of applying and asked to come in for a 1 on 1 intervew. I arrived to the interview 15 minutes early and was taken in 10 minutes late. When I got to the interviewer's office I was asked to wait again while he waited for a co worker to get off the phone so the office would be free. As the interveiwer was asking me quuestions he did not make eye contact with me. He was zipping through questions on a sheet and barely acknowledging that I had answered. Then he answered the phone in the middle of the interview without apologizing. H had a five minute conversation while I waited breaking up the flow of the interview. I was very unimpressed with his rudness and hope that he does not treat customers the way that he treated me. On the way out he did not shake my hand.

First the interview was held in the back room and it was very steamy and stuffy. I answered 10 questions and the Operations Manager seemed very disinterested in me.

The Interview I have to say it was pretty straight-forward and easy, the store manager which was the one who did the interview was really nice and carefully explained to me the position that the job consist of and she also introduce herself very well, the interview overall was easy and asked the usual questions.
she talked to me like I already had the job and seemed like she really liked me but I never got called back or anything I think it's because I never really called back to check what was going on, so I think that was the problem
overall I had a good experience pretty easygoing and relaxed.

Applied to the job. A few days later a mgr called to set up interview. Couple days later had the interview. Met with mgr for about 10 minutes. She left to get another mgr to ask me questions which lasted about 5 minutes. Original mgr came back and let asked if I'd be interested in a manager position. Said yes and she told me to apply online as there were different questions I had to answer. Also let me know they'd be contacting me about 6 days later.

Company had four total interviews and the last one consisted of six people sitting in a room and the Store Manager going around the room asking us a bunch of questions. He told us we would finally be notified of an answer by the end of the day. I never heard back from them.
