I applied online - interviewed at Philips Lighting in June 2013.

Interview Details – Prescreen interview by HR personnel; I was very surprised to get the call 1 day after applying online. Phone interview with hiring manager, then invited to onsite interview with 3 people, no tour or lunch included. Heard word back from HR via phone call that I was not selected - many qualified candidates.

Interview Question – If you were to choose between a challenging, high paying job or a relaxed, lower paying job, which would you choose and why?   View Answer

I applied through college or university and the process took a day - interviewed at Philips Lighting in August 2013.

Interview Details – The process is quite comforting and the hiring staff or interviewers are ready to hear you out. BE true and BE original and you will get through. Be good with your communication , be effective . They like soft spoken yet enthusiastic workers. Ethics and manners can be stressed upon so do not try to be a wildfire in Group Discussions. Make your point and then collaborate , help others and you will get an Interview call

Financial Traineeship Interview

I applied online and the process took 3 months - interviewed at Philips Lighting in December 2012.

Interview Details – Applied online and in a week received an invitation to verbal and numerical reasoning tests. Passed them successfully and was invited for one-on-one interview in Eindhoven. Pleasant people in the office and relaxing atmosphere.

Most of the questions were related to soft-skills. I was supposed to give examples of why I am a good team player / pro-active / initiative and so on. By closed postures and gloomy stare of HR-manager I understood that will never get to the next stage. So in two months I received a negative reply.

The interesting thing is when I asked to explain what "pro-active" means, I did not receive a sound answer. It was my first interview abroad and overal a positive experience.

Interview Question – Are you a pro-active person?   Answer Question
