Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Procter & Gamble (Nairobi (Kenya)) in February 2014.

Interview

I passed through 3 steps in the interview process. I applied on the company site.In about a month's time, I was invited for a reasoning test which was very challenging. Punctuality and practice is essential to pass these tests. My nerves got the best of me during these tests but fortunately I passed. A month later, I was invited for a Screening Interview with Brand Operations Leader and CMK Leader. The interview was structured with situation/experience based questions. The questions aimed to show situation where problem solving, leadership, creativity skills were applied by the interviewer.

Applied through campus recruiter who I met at a career fair and online. Recruiter called to prep me for the assessment and personality tests. Somewhat difficult personality questions asking you what you would do in certain situations. In real life I would have done 2-3 of the given options, making it hard to choose between the answers.

    Interview

Applied through Alum Career Connector. Scheduled an on campus interview. Interview was behavioral and also focused on company culture. The recruiter was very nice but lacking genuine interest in the conversation. By the end of the interview, I felt like I was not going to fit in well with other employees. One month after the interview, I received a rejection letter.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Procter & Gamble in January 2008.

    Interview

I applied on campus and the recruitment process consisted of four 1-on-1 interviews with senior managers from different functions (CMK, Sales or CBD, Marketing and Finance). No technical questions (i.e. marketing related) were asked, the entire interview consisted of behavioural questions. P&G looks to evaluate demonstrated competence across business situations. Sample questions: 1) Describe a situation when you had to lead a diverse team and how you did it. 2) Describe a situation when you disagreed with your boss/manager and what you did. 3) Give me an instance where you displayed leadership 4) Describe a situation where you disagreed with a team/your boss and you were able to convince them to your point of view. Many examples of such questions can be found online. Each interviewer tends to ask similar questions and constantly writes down their observations on a sheet of paper. I think this sheet is handed down to subsequent interviewers. Sometimes, the interviewers may not even look at you and seem neutral to your answers; the key is to be consistent in your answers and try to link them to your resume.

    Interview Questions

    • Describe a situation in which you disagreed with your team members and you were able to convince them to your point of view.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

Salary offered on campus was fixed, no negotiation possible.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Procter & Gamble (Cairo (Egypt)) in April 2011.

    Interview

It is LONG! For any given position, you go through two interviews, one with an HR Manager and another with the direct manager who you will be reporting to, if you get the job. Halfway through the interviewing process, they might, as in my case, decide they want to admit you to another position where they see you might fit in more. If that is the case, you go through another pair of interviews. So all in all, there was the first online test, the reasoning test, 4 interviews (for 2 different departments) and, if you pass all that, you get a final interview with the HR regional manager. They might give you the job offer in that last interview or they might as you to come back in another day if all goes well.
