I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Progressive Insurance in May 2010.

Interview Details – There were three interviews, the initial one took place over the phone. The next step is getting called in to come on-site and take a test, which consists of basic math and english questions which is hardly difficult. They also assess your personality at this time, if you want to pass you MUST be consistent. They throw the same question in a few pages apart so you must be focused and on top of your game. If you pass that part, you are invited back and are interviewed by three managers. They ask you the standard interview questions.

Interview Question – Describe a time when you had a disagreement or dispute with your boss and explain how you worked it out.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – There was no negotiating, they advertised to fill a specific position with a specific salary which I accepted

I applied through college or university and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Progressive Insurance.

Interview Details – Find someone that you know at the company. That is the easiest way to get in the door. After that, you will go through a phone interview and take a test for job fit. If you make it to the final round, expect a lot of situational based question looking forw specific examples. Good luck!

Interview Question – Give me an example of a team or group that you worked with that was especially difficult? What made it difficult and how did you handle the situation?   Answer Question

I applied online and the process took 4 days - interviewed at Progressive Insurance in November 2013.

Interview Details – I applied online. The entire process took about a month. The initial process started with a behavioral assessment that took about 45 min. Once I completed that, I received an e-mail advising me that I would move forward to a phone-interview. The recruiter that conducted the interview advised me that the questions would be posed in a STAR-based format. At the conclusion of the interview I was told that I would have an opportunity for an in-person interview. The next interview was conducted by a manager also using the STAR questioning. I then continued with a supervisor that continued with the same process. The manager relayed to me that the priority was to hire individuals with potential to go on to other positions in claims and other depts. The supervisor I spoke with told me that the main concern was to find individuals who would not be easily discouraged and could eventually keep up with the workload. The interviewers were cordial and let me know I would hear from them w/in two weeks with feedback. I received a call from the recruiter I spoke with on the previous phone interview. The call was exactly two weeks to the day of my interview. The recruiter apologized sincerely for the time lapsed since my interview, but this wasn't too much of a concern since I was warned in the interview it may take this long to receive an answer. My overall perception was that I was t

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Progressive Insurance.

Interview Details – The interview process is not bad. You fill out the application online and if they like what they see they will send you an email telling you to do an online assessment. If you do well on the assessment they email you telling you they are interested in a phone interview. During the phone interview they ask about 8-10 behavioral based questions. They give you some examples in an email prior to the interview, but I believe the best way to prepare yourself is to google STAR interview questions. I believe I was asked one question from their examples but all the questions I googled were similar to questions that I was asked. Since I did very well on the phone interview (thanks to google) I was told I would receive a call within the next few days to set up an in person interview. I received a call and an email explaining the process of my in person interview. I ended up withdrawing from the hiring process because they moved my intended start date by 3 months and I could not wait that long for a job, and besides the money wasn't worth the wait (only $13.50 an hour). Before I withdrew I was told that my in person interview would consist of me being interviewed by a manager and if that went well I would I would interview with someone else (can't remember their title).

Interview Question – Describe a decision you made that wasn't popular and how you handled implementing it.   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – I didn't finish the process but I withdrew when they moved back my start date.
