Front Service Clerk (Bagger) Interview

Front Service Clerk (Bagger)

Interviewed at Publix

Interview Details – Told me a resume was not necessary, however I think it puts you over the top. Very casual, need to be extremely customer service oriented in many responses. Following up with stores regarding application is crucial. Also, be very energetic/charismatic during interview, Publix values employees that are happy and hardworking.

Interview Question – How would you handle a customer who was upset by a sale?   View Answer

I applied through other source and interviewed at Publix.

Interview Details – First off Ill say I didnt expect to get called since I have applied to Publix several times over and nothing. I managed to get in and also had someone reccomend me who worked there. The interview went very smoothly I didnt feel nervous in the least and they didnt talk like "manager and employee". Very at ease with just the basic questions, nothing over the top just things like this --> (How would you define good customer service?, or a scenario of how would I deal with a difficult coworker) and for the most part I did very well and was hired on the spot. An oral drug test was done on the stop so druggies beware lol and it took like 30 minutes. The drug test took up more time for me because there were technical difficulties but make sure your mouth isnt bone dry before going in as I had to do it three times.

Interview Details – The interview process was very simple. Sine you log in all of your information of the computer prior to the interview they have all of your necessary and basic strengths and weaknesses. I was first asked to describe myself and tell the interviewer about my basic day to day schedule and what projects and events I was currently working on. Took a drug test right after the interview. All together lasted about 30 minutes.

Negotiation Details – Starting pay of $8. Above minimum wage for a first job

I applied in-person and the process took 4 days - interviewed at Publix in June 2011.

Interview Details – There is a very lengthy application to fill out that includes a quiz that (I think) doesn't really have right or wrong answers to some of the questions, but are more for figuring out what kind of person you are. But in all honesty I don't know one employee that got hired by applying only. We all have some connection or talked to management to show interest. I know another store manager and I still had to renew my application 5 times and talked to an assistant manager 3 times before finally getting a "pre" interview as he called it. Soon after I got a call from his boss asking me to come in for an interview and got a call a few days later saying I got the job.

Interview Question – "what would be considered a waste of your time?"   View Answer

Negotiation Details – I got a phone call saying they wanted to offer me a part time front service clerk position, and asked if I were still interested and I was they would set up an orientation. Pretty brief process.

Front Service Clerk (Bagger) Interview

Front Service Clerk (Bagger)

I applied in-person and the process took 6 days - interviewed at Publix in April 2013.

Interview Details – I put in an application at the location in Pensacola, FL. It was in store, which I think is required anyway. I put down that I had complete open availability, because I was looking mainly for a job for summer since my current job isn't open during that season. I put in my application on Thursday and received a phone call that following Tuesday for the location in Pace. He asked me to come in for an interview the next day, and the day after that he called me saying he wanted to hire me and asked me to come in for my drug test.

The interview was really simple. It only took about 20 minutes. He just wanted to explain a little bit about the store, the job, himself, and asked about me. The interview was extremely easy. He asked why I loved people, if I was good at working as a team, and asked about a time I had an upset customer and how I handled it.

HINT: If you have open availability, you're more likely to be called in for an interview and then hired.

Interview Question – Asked me for an example of when I had an upset customer, and the steps I went through to resolve the issue.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – He said $8/hr. I was kind of hesitant, but agreed. He heard it in my voice and reassured me by saying they have evaluations every 6 months and during each I'm eligible for a raise.
