    Assurance Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Houston, TX

    Negative Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at PwC (Houston, TX).

    Interview

All the directors were at the dinner to meet their students, they also arrange to sit near their student. It turns out the person sitting opposite to you is going to interview you the next day. They also revealed who will be interviewing who.

Two directors didn't show up including mine so I was stuck. Everyone else got to know their interviewer. I sat on one end of the table so with 1 person missing, I could only talk to 2 other people. This means I only have 30 minutes interview to make an impression on the next day. Tough interview.

So my experience is: if the person who should sit with you doesn't show up, change seat asap if you still want to get the internship. Otherwise, they will think you are shy. Not a good character in public accounting. You can talk to yourself, that will look very good. If you change seat, you will make a ruckus because of the arranged seating. They might think you are a suck up, but since it is already over, just do anything to have fun. Might as well back out of the office visit.

    Interview

Received an interview for the experienced position
Did really well, but since I was a college graduate, my resume was then forwarded for an inexperienced role.
Did really well, however the interviewer was inexperienced and lacked communication skills. Needless to say it was a poor interview process

    Interview

It was an all behaviour questions based interview. You have to think about what challenges you confronted with in the past, and how you dealt with them eventually. There weren't much time for you to think about it. Remember to give specific, positive and real examples and use the "STAR" model. ]

    Audit Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Saint Louis, MO

    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a weekinterviewed at PwC (Saint Louis, MO) in May 2015.

    Interview

I was selected to participate in the Elevate program for my city. The Elevate program was a 2 day summer leadership conference where they bring in about 30+ students to learn more about the company. They also planned various social and philanthropic activities. On the second day, each students had (2) behavioral interviews with a partner and a manager in the chosen service line. Do not be intimidated by the word behavioral. It was very conversational almost as if you're talking to an advisor/counselor on your career goals and aspirations. For each interview, they began asking basic questions such as read me through your resume, tell me more about your involvement in this club, etc. The rest of the time was situational questions such as Tell me how you approach working in a team, what position do you tend to take, how do you deal with a teammate not doing their part, etc. If you go in with a mentality of preparedness and confidence about yourself, the interview goes by real fast! Be genuine and actually listen to what they have to say about themselves. Often times, more questions arise as your conversation carries on. That way, questions you ask become more genuine and catered to them. Overall, all interviews I've had with PwC is very laid-back, conversation and stress-free.
