    Summer Advisory Associate Interview

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university – interviewed at PwC (Chicago, IL) in March 2015.

    Interview

Prior to the first round, all candidates were invited to a networking event at a restaurant. Be warned, make sure to make a good impression on your recruiters. This is basically to gauge the candidates' people-skills and ability to network. The first round was with on-campus with a manager.

I was later invited to the final round at the chicago office, where I did 2 behavioral interviews and 1 case/presentation interview. Prior to the final round, all candidates were given a case study -- to be presented to the interviewer on super day. On super day, all candidates have time before the interviews to prepare their presentation.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at PwC (Geneseo, NY) in March 2015.

    Interview

I met with three recent graduates who told me about their daily work life before the actual interview. I had my interview with a partner in the company, and it was mostly conversational. I only remember being asked two questions with others happening naturally in the conversation. There were no behavioral questions. The interviewer was very nice and pleasant to talk to. I applied to the NYC Elevate program which was very competitive and didn't end up getting in. They were very friendly and I appreciated that they called to let me know I didn't get. Overall, it was a good experience.

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at PwC (New York, NY) in March 2015.

    Interview

I applied on line for the Team Assistant position since I already have working experience in the same company. They contacted me by email 7 days later and scheduled phone interview. It was very short and concise. She asked me about my previous experience and some technical question such as my knowledge of Excel, Word and Power Point, also scheduling meetings and preparation of the meeting documentation.

    Manager Interview

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at PwC (Tampa, FL) in March 2015.

    Interview

Almost like clockwork, I heard from PwC every 10 days to schedule the next interview. Everyone was uber professional along the way.

Three phone interviews (recruiter, Sr Manager, Director), two in person (same Sr Manager, Managing Partner). All were mainly conversational in nature, describing current and perceived role of the area being interviewed for. I was advised that - in the hiring process - they preferred more junior candidates at Manager or below.

While I received nothing but positive feedback, was ultimately rejected by a recruiter with no explanation. I requested constructive feedback, received none.

I left this experience thinking there a certain type of candidate they're looking for...and - despite credentials - was not it. A shame, as the person who referred me is a wonderful ambassador for the company.

    Application

I applied through college or university – interviewed at PwC.

    Interview

It was a about 40 minutes long interview. I briefly introduced about myself. I answered why I want to be an actuary, which sector I want to get involved, why I choose PWC. As these were typical questions, I had no difficulty to answer the questions. After that, there were about 5 behavior questions about leadership. Although I didn't have enough concrete stories, the questions were not that picky. Moreover, He asked one recent issue on the insurance industry. As it was my first interview, I was very nervous. But, as I remember, the interviewer was nice.
