    Part Time Clerk Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Wichita, KS

    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at QuikTrip (Wichita, KS) in August 2015.

    Interview

Completed a simple online questionnaire and was called in to do a math test. Came out of the computer room and was told I passed so was given a time to come back and have any interview that day. I interviewed with Coby who was friendly. I had lots of experience, an associates degree, and several current QT managers as references. I was asked about who far I would travel which I said a 40 mile radius and my availability. I told him I was available any day 5am-12am. My QT friends gave me tips on how what QT was looking for. My references were never checked, including my QT manager friends. I received the "No interest" letter soon after. It was mailed the day after my interview. Conclusion? They discriminate against any one over 40. Next time you are in a QT take a look at the workers. If they are over 40 they probably started long ago......

    Part Time Clerk Interview

Anonymous Employee in Saint Louis, MO
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at QuikTrip (Saint Louis, MO) in August 2015.

    Interview

The person that interviewed me didn't seem like he wanted to be there and he didn't seem very interested in my responses. First you have to take a basic math test where you just calculate how much change you give back to a customer in the least amount of bills/coins and if you pass the test then you move on to a interview.

    Interview

It started with a simple math test with no calculator. If you pass that you move on to the interview where they ask you simple easy questions. However they were asking many long term questions such as to if I'd be living in the area for more than a year.

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at QuikTrip (Lawrenceville, GA) in April 2015.

    Interview

Applied online, received a call ~two weeks later. Went to the central office for the interview. First they have you watch a short video about the company. Then you take a math test on a computer, bring a pen! They supply scratch paper. If you ace the test they will give you some paperwork to fill out and ask you to come back for an interview with a recruiter. Basic interview, about eight questions. They tell you about the company and make sure you're able to do all the dofferent jobs in the store. At the end they give you a free drink voucher and a paper explaining the specifications of the job you applied for and tell you to go check out a QuikTrip and get a feel for the atmosphere of a store. Not a bad interview, pretty short.

    Part Time Clerk Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at QuikTrip (Tulsa, OK) in February 2015.

    Interview

You apply online, which includes a long questionnaire, and if you answer the questions to their liking, your application will be open for viewing. I past the questionnaire and received a call the next day saying that I can come into the division center for a math test. It's simple math. I took the liberty of reading through this website to prepare myself for the interview and test, mostly because math isn't my strong point. For the math test that I took which I assume the majority of people took was not at all what I read about. Some people said you need to make sure you know how to find percentage of numbers and fractions and what not. No. You add up a couple figures, and subtract it from the 'money' that the customer gives you. It's incredibly easy. Ex, if a customer buys a soda worth one dollar and gives you a five, what change would you give back? Thats it. The only thing I had trouble with was how I entered in the information but eventually got it. It was like ten questions at the most. Afterwards you go out to the waiting area if you past and wait for an interview which for me I only waited 5 minutes. Smile. They will not hire you unless you are outgoing, smile, and professional. Make a good impression.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at QuikTrip (Atlanta, GA) in October 2014.

    Interview

While I went to QuikTrip on day, I saw a sing on their window that stated that they were looking for someone to hire. i was looking for a job, so I decided to apply. What could possibly go wrong, you know? I didn't expect to get a call back, but two days later I got a call from a manager that wanted me to take a simple math test. It was easy, basic arithmetic, make sure that you know how to count change and subtract correctly. You must get a 100% on this. They told me that they'll call me back to set up an interview, and they called back within 2 hours. I went in to take the interview, being confident, but I didn't do well enough to get the job unfortunately.

    Team Member Interview

    Anonymous Employee

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at QuikTrip.

    Interview

The first and foremost part of the interview, besides the opening video, is to be prepared for the math portion. Never having been apart of retail... Well, I've read about this part, but I did not research it. You need to know certain basic arithmetic formulas. Anybody with previous experience applying for retail would have been prepared. I wasn't, out of overconfidence. Whoops. But I'm trying again when the thirty days are up--gives me plenty of time to brush up. You must get 100% on this test. And take note, no matter how correctly you do the math, the structure of the answer is equally as important, and they want something specific, which is entirely understandable. I'll add more if I make the verbal part next time around. Good luck, candidates! Don't be silly like me.
