    Interview

An interesting interview. I was given a walk through the facility by the group manager first. The folks that interviewed me were very friendly and asked me questions relating my past experience. The group provided me with a brief description of the project they were working on and described each of their roles within the group. Finally, we talked about how my past experience could complement the group's skills.

    • How would your past experience be useful in the project? Could you provide situational examples for how you solved a certain engineering problem?   Answer Question

Had interview on campus at my college. Questions were pretty standard no technical questions for the first interview. Interviewers were nice except they talked for a long time which cut into my answers.

    Interview

Applied online and got a call about 2 weeks later from a Hiring Manager. I had the phone screen with him. He asked about my experience, and pretty much went over my resume. He asked me if I was willing to travel, and told me that I would get a call to schedule an interview. I got an email a week later providing dates where the other hiring manager was available and I had my interview with him and another person through the phone. They asked me about my courses in school and job experience. No technical questions.

    • Tell me about your final semester project? How did you decide what each group member was in charge of when working in groups?   Answer Question

    Interview

Through HireView, a virtual recording tool. I was asked a series of multiple choice and video response questions. The videos were timed for 3 minutes, with 30 seconds of preparation. Afterwards, they follow up with you via email to let you know if you continue on or were rejected. I would definitely recommend doing the practice questions before you start your interview.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at Raytheon (Tucson, AZ) in February 2015.

    Interview

Applied in late November 2014. When my resume finally hit a desk I was called right away. We spoke for about half and hour, and he made me feel like I practically had the job. I had my flight itinerary in a couple days and was there within 10 days after. Interview was grueling, Four sets of two on one or one on one interviews over six hours. Lunch with two young professional women "like me". The man on the phone was seen for less than 5 minutes. I was completely blind. Sent thank you's the next day and a follow up a week and a half later. I was told at the interview there were several openings. My e-mail was answered with "Sorry I didn't get back to you. No jobs are available to someone like you". Since the interview every application I have sent to Raytheon has been bounced back saying I am not good enough without even a glance (not exaggerating).

    Interview Questions

    • Almost solely asked about "group work" and things I did for the government previously.   1 Answer
    • I was repeatedly asked if I liked the city. Apparently, no one wants to live there. I was excited; but, when I got to Tucson there was something off. Perhaps the fact is that it was surrounded with military, or all the hippies :) The dangerous wildlife and proximity to the border were intimidating even when I am from the desert. Everyone should check out the area as much as possible even on the internet before flying there...to a hotel with no bathtub. That was a killer!!!   Answer Question

    Interview

On campus interview with two campus recruiters. They asked mostly behavioral questions that were focused on past internship experiences. My interviewers did not ask anything about extracurricular activities. The interview was pretty relaxed and I had a lot of opportunity to talk about school projects and personal accomplishments.

    Interview

There is effective process in getting the application and location information to the potential candidate. However, with any large company it is possible to receive multiple sources that are seeking your application but is not located locally so it can be confusing about who you should actually rely on for contacting for final scheduling. You can only get a good interview if you have a good interviewer who is genuinely interested in asking questions that allow each party to exchange enough information that you can each discern if it a good fit.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeksinterviewed at Raytheon in January 2015.

    Interview

HR contacted me a little over a month after applying for the position. They wanted to setup a phone interview with the hiring manager. I was very flexible with my schedule, so I made them aware of that (bad mistake). They gave me a 2 day window when he would call me... I never received a call from him and until this day I have not heard back from them. The position is still open so is not like they cancelled it (as far as I can tell). I feel it is very unprofessional to not even call/e-mail to apologize or at least explain what was going on. Not only that, but I called the HR representative the first day I was waiting for the phone call from the hiring manager. She did not answer, so I left a voice-mail asking for a call back so I could ask a quick question. She did not return my call, so I had to call back the next day. When she answered, all she said was: “Oh yeah, I got your voice-mail yesterday… did you have a question?”. Not sure if other people had problems with them, but my overall experience with them has been extremely negative. Hopefully I am just a fluke and normally they are not this rude to their candidates. Otherwise, I hope someone (with authority) from the company reads this and does something about it.

Down side is you may very well be on a program with terrible balance and mandatory over time. It's a government contractor. You're not going to run out of work any time soon.” – Full Review
