    Human Resources Position Interview

I applied online. The process took 4+ monthsinterviewed at Rockwell Automation.

The recruiters were very helpful and contacted me to get more information. They asked a lot of information about me, but I wish that they would have given a little bit more about the position I was applying for, such as salary and benefits information or packages for the job. I had a total of 5 interviews for the job. From 2 recruiters by phone, then a co-worker by phone, to the supervisor by phone, and finally the on-site interview with the supervisor, leadership team, and tour of the plant.

Overall, I was appalled with the communication issues, especially with the supervisor (for an HR job no less). The supervisor completely blew me off for my phone interview and I had to call all over the place before actually getting her two days later. The on-site interview seemed very genuine: met with the leadership team, then with the supervisor, then went on a full tour of the plant. Afterward, I heard nothing and am going on many weeks without hearing a word from anyone (ever a rejection or a comment about the process) after contacting the company.

Worries for me if I actually moved farther in the process: 1. the reason and purpose for so many interviews, 2. the communication at Rockwell, 3. the communication and purpose that the HR department is actually serving, and 4. the image that this type of interview process projects to the future at Rockwell.

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Rockwell Automation.

    Interview Details

Got the interview out of career services from my college. The first interview was on campus with the outside sales and inside sales supervisors. They seemed like very nice people and asked the usual HR questions... name a time when you had trouble working with people etc.. After the first round interview it took about a week for them to get back to me about a second round interview (also on campus) with their boss. He seemed like a nice person as well although a little uptight. Second round interview was essentially the same as the first with very similar questions, so I got the impression that it was just there to feel your personality out. The people that I interacted with though as a whole seemed a little uptight in my opinion almost like robots.

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Rockwell Automation in May 2014.

    Interview Details

Applied online and was brought in to interview a week later. The actual interview was probably one of the shortest that I've ever had. It lasted about 15 minutes and all of the questions were read directly off of a piece of paper. Standard, typical interview questions. Very little interaction other than that. It felt like they already had who they wanted to hire but needed to interview another candidate. Emailed a week and two weeks later to inquire about the interview/position and never heard back.

I applied online – interviewed at Rockwell Automation in April 2014.

    Interview Details

The interview was through Montage Interviews, and for most of the interview we talked about the position and conversation that related to it. Most of the interview seemed like a conversation more than question and answer. He was very courteous and understood that I have not had many interviews to practice.

Upload the resume and the HR contact me within 2 weeks. The phone interview consists of two parts, the behavior and technical. The HR asked general behavior question in the first , then he asked his teammate to start the technical part. Then I failed on the technical question.

I applied online – interviewed at Rockwell Automation.

I was quickly contacted for a phone interview by the recruiter. She asked the standard questions, nothing out of the ordinary or unexpected. After telling me that I was an excellent candidate for the position, she told me to expect the hiring manager to schedule an interview with me the next week. When I did not receive a phone call, I contacted the recruiter who informed me that she had been unable to reach the hiring manager but would update me. A week later, no contact, so I contacted her again to receive the same answer. This repeated itself two more times until she stopped returning my calls and emails. Very unprofessional and unexpected from a company like Rockwell Automation.

I applied through college or university – interviewed at Rockwell Automation in January 2014.

    Interview Details

The interview process was rather off putting to the company culture. I was going in for an interview and the recruiter just grilled me with technical questions and seemed like I was wasting his time. I am not experienced in the particular software that he was talking about and it seemed like since I didn't, he had little interest in me. I saw the behavioral based questions right next to him and he was just asking technical questions in which I have never seen and most of my colleagues have not seen either. It was very bad in my opinion.
