I applied through a recruiter - interviewed at Ross Stores in January 2014.

Interview Details – had great conversation with all 10 interviewers all 10 times but was disappointed with their decisions when they advised i was rejected from the process because i was moving a missing part in my experience. Considering i made it that far in the process perhaps they could have screened that lack of experience in advance instead of spending 1 month and half.

Assistant Store Manager Interview

I applied online and the process took 5 weeks - interviewed at Ross Stores in May 2014.

Interview Details – After submitting my application, resume' and references online, I finally received a call to come in for an interview a month later. The store manager was very positive about the company, however, she was not ready for me at agreed time. I was also told that I would hear back in a week, regardless of outcome. I never heard back and it has been over a month. Very disappointing.

Interview Details – This company uses an exclusive outside recruiter and the process for hire is very slow. You will interview with the group, then CFO, the CEO. If you make it through all of those steps, you have to take a test.

Interview Question – I got into conversation where I was told their department has no persuasive authority with stakeholders.   Answer Question

Interviewed at Ross Stores

Interview Details – I first met with an HR manager after she found me on LinkedIn. Questions were pretty standard, though she did test me on my fashion trend knowledge. About a week later, I met with one of the Buyers. She was extremely nice, and the interview was pretty easy-going.

Interview Question – During my second interview, we played a "rate yourself" game. I would suggest thinking carefully before rating yourself, so that you seem confident yet also a bit self-critical.   Answer Question

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 3 months - interviewed at Ross Stores.

Interview Details – Very long interview process-- took about 3 months and they were very vague as to when an answer would be reached. I didn't end up getting the job because all available jobs were being saved for college graduates and interns in order for the company to save money.

I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Ross Stores in March 2014.

Interview Details – I applied for Ross a month before they called to set up an appointment for an interview. I went to the interview the next day, and I spoke to an interviewee who asked me a few basic questions. She seemed to like me and was very thorough with everything. This interview took about 10 minutes. She then asked me to call back in tomorrow to make an appointment with the manager for a second interview.

During the second interview, the manager was very brief. She seemed to be in a rush and wanted me out since it was already late during the day. She didn't bother to ask me if I have any questions. The interview lasted about only 2 minutes, and she said she will definitely call me back tomorrow to tell me if I am hired. I waited and never received a phone call. Instead, I got an automatic e-mail from the manager stating that they are considering other candidates.

Interview Question – There were no unexpected question.   Answer Question
