    Interview

Very long and needs lot of preparation including presentation. Thesis presentaion or previous work presentaion. Tough questions were related to in depth technical studies. You need to know what you are talking about in your presentation at depth.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at Saint-Gobain in October 2014.

    Interview

Talked to recruiters during university career fair. Scheduled an interview time with them the next day on-campus. Was told that I would hear back via a phone call if I was selected for the next steps. Received a phone call some weeks later and told I would get an email from the director of the department hiring. Received an email to schedule a phone interview. Phone interview conducted that same week. Offer came ~1 month later by phone.

    Interview

Interviews were very structured and quick. When the company wants to make something happen, or even if there are hiccups, the company will work hard to accommodate your requests. I would suggest the interviewer be prepared to ask a lot of questions to sniff out the challenges of the job prior to accepting an offer.

    Interview Questions

    Fairly straightforwad.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ weekinterviewed at Saint-Gobain (Northborough, MA).

    Interview

Speed interview. Half day with 2 other candidates. Started at 7:30am, required to give a 20-30 min presentation 4 times back to back to various groups. Next was a tour of the campus and then lunch. All went very fast. Barely had time to ask questions as I was presenting or answered them most of the time. There was a host who followed me all day which helped a lot. Generally people were exceptionally nice. No curveball questions. Had an answer back in 3 business days.

    Interview Questions

    • No real difficult or unexpected but be prepared to talk about your resume and know you presentation by heart.   1 Answer

    Interview

The whole interview process with Saint-Gobain was a good experience. The recruiter followed up with me frequently to ensure I was being contacted by others to keep the process moving. While it took about two months to get through the interviewing prior to offer, it was done well.

    Interview

Very slow and deliberate process that started with recruiter phone interview; followed by phone interviews with potential managers; followed by 1/2-day group interviews; finished with an interview with Plant Manager. Very slow process that at times I wondered if they were even interested.

    Interview Questions

    • No surprises in terms of questions - not gotchas; focused on cultural fit; team work; problem solving; and being able to handle a slow but deliberate moving company- patience.   Answer Question

I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Saint-Gobain (Seattle, WA) in March 2012.

    Interview

I found this job posted on-line. It was posted for months and I didn't apply because I wasnt' familiar with the company and then I saw it on a government job board and took a closer look at the company and discovered how large and established they are. I interviewed at the plant I work at now and with and with two groups of people plus a video conference interview with individuals from Europe.

    Interview Questions

    • Nothing out of the ordinary, I'd interviewed at Amazon and REI before this and it was a great change of pace that they just talked to me honestly about my experience instead of asking trick questions.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

I am a bad negotiator, I just accepted.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took a dayinterviewed at Saint-Gobain (Akron, OH) in July 2010.

    Interview

People were friendly, realistic and down-to-earth. It was a comfortable interview and felt like the right fit. I met with people from 3 different departments and was excited about the prospects for growth within the company. I received a call-back fairly quickly and got started right away. The people there are knowledgeable and care about their work- they just want to see that you'll also care about what they do there.

    Interview Questions

    • The questions about times where I had solved a problem or how I interact with difficult people. Having not had much experience yet, I had to stretch to think of situations that fit.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

Not much negotiation happened, I accepted the offer for a temporary position.

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Saint-Gobain (Coventry, England (UK)) in September 2014.

    Interview

I was approached via a recruitment agency about a role within Saint Gobain mid-September 2014. The role incorporated a mixture of Recruitment, Employer Branding and Communications. I discussed the role in detail with the recruitment agency who approached me and they were very interested in sending over my CV.

A few days later I received a call from the recruitment agency and they communicated to me Saint Gobain's interest in seeing me for a face-to-face interview. The interview was supposed to be 2 stages, however as they were looking for someone to start on this project role relatively soon they made the decision to have a 1 stage interview process.

I travelled to Coventry where the UK delegation of Saint Gobain is based and met my proposed hiring manager. The interview was supposed to last 45/60 minutes, but it actually went on for 1 hour 30 minutes. This was good news for me as it showed that we had plenty to talk about during our conversation, whether it was about me as a candidate or Saint Gobain as a business. I came out of the interview with a great perception of Saint Gobain as a business and knew that if I received an offer I would accept.

A couple of days after the interview an offer was made to the recruitment agency which I accepted. The following week I started my role within Saint Gobain!

I gave feedback to the recruitment agency I went through. A few hours later I received feedback from Saint Gobain via the recruitment agency expressing their appreciation in seeing me and their interest in taking me on board. Nothing concrete/set in stone, but good news to hear nonetheless.

A few days later I received a call from the recruitment agency and they proposed me the offer which Saint Gobain had made. I immediately accepted after having a fantastic experience at the face-to-face interview and joined the following week.
