Supply Chain Specialist Interview (Negative Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Schneider.
Interview Details – Hour phone interview and hour in-person interview at office. The managers interviewing me seems pretty unprofessional. The woman refused to answer any of my questions and directed her manager to do so. The entire time he was putting down his team saying some of them are "not so smart". I heard back a response fairly quickly because they were looking to hire someone asap. Overall, I found the experience extremely negative and this office seems to be a place where I would be unhappy to work at.
Interview Question – None really. I was told the interview would be behavioral based and it was not. Answer Question
Sales Representative Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Schneider.
Interview Details – On campus interview one on one. Got back to me right away set up next interview in office. Had to fill out some paper work and apply for job online previous to interview. Question regarding how much salary you expect to earn. Office interivew was two on one. Was more of a conversation then an interview, basic behavioral questions. Asked about previous sales experience, what motivates me etc. Good people and company just the pay that was lacking for me.
Interview Question – Asked about salary. Answer Question
Customer Service Representative Interview (Negative Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Schneider in September 2013.
Interview Details – Schneider contacted me a couple days after applying and scheduled a phone interview. Phone interview went great and lasted about 30 minutes! A couple days later received a call from a recruiter to come back for an in person interview.
The in person interview was awful. It's a panel interview with 3 "middle" management individuals that lasted an hour. Their questions were ridiculous! Who asks something like "what do you do to motivate people"? I'm interviewing for a Customer Service position, not a managment position. I have never had to motivate people!
Anyway, the interview was very intimidating and it felt like they were trying to break me. They weren't even interested in getting to know me as a worker or individual...just supid behavioral questions that are not related to the job.
I ended up accepting another position with a better Company for more pay.
Schneider also never got back to me.
Interview Question – What do you do to motivate people? Answer Question
Transportation Engineer Interview (Neutral Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied online and interviewed at Schneider.
Interview Details – I got a HR screen interview. A very nice recruiter just asked some normal questions such like why do you want to work for Schneider National, why do you think you are the right person. After the 30 minutes interview, the recruiter immediately told me I can get another interview next week. I sent follow-up email every week after the first interview and they always told me that they were still reviewing my background. After three weeks, I was told they wouldn't consider me for this position.
Interview Question – What kinds of problems have you encountered and how did you deal with them? Answer Question
Very Easy Interview
Truck Driver Interview (Positive Experience; Very Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Schneider in September 2011.
Interview Details – Hiring is complicated; you need a comprehensive list of all employers and places you have lived for the past ten years. My best recommendation is to go get a free credit report, and it usually lists that info on there. After you fill out the application, you will get called up by a recruiter to do an over the phone interview, and they will set up a work physical. This is pretty basic stuff, you need to be able to lift with your legs, move a small crate, safely get into and out of the back of a trailer while maintaining 3 points of contact, and be able to duckwalk under a trailer.
Interview Question – No difficult or unexpected QUESTIONS, really. In training they expected you to be able to do a 90 back, which was never so much as mentioned at the driving school I attended. But they taught it, and I was able to get the hang of it easily enough. Answer Question
Brokerage Team Lead Interview (Negative Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Schneider in September 2011.
Interview Details – The interview consisted of a panel of middle managers, many whose only experience was with Schneider national. Each panel ran the interviewee through the typical scenarios, really cookie-cutter questions with very little depth. Often they applied a Schneider tilt to the questions or expected one, also they posed a large number of grey area questions.
Interview Question – Describe your reaction to being on the wrong side of an HR dispute. Answer Question
Inside Sales Account Executive Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Schneider in April 2012.
Interview Details – I applied to the job online and heard back from a human resources generalist about a week later. They arranged for a 30 minute phone interview, where they asked a number of questions about my background and interest in the position. Be prepared to explain your interest in the job, because it seemed crucial. Also, have several questions prepared before the interview begins, and spend some time researching the company.
Please Tell Me About A Time You Had to Make A Difficult Decision Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Schneider in January 2011.
Interview Details – I received a phone interview.
Interview Question – Please tell me about a time you had to make a difficult decision. Answer Question
Inside Sales Account Executive Interview (Neutral Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Schneider in October 2010.
Interview Details – Applied online on company website. Received a phone call 3 days later to arrange a phone interview, which took place the following week. Phone interview lasted about 30 minutes. Asked very basic questions about resume, nothing difficult or unexpected. Received an email several days informing me that I would not be invited for an in-person interview.
Interview Question – Describe a time you experienced a conflict with a co-worker. How was this conflict resolved? Answer Question
Recruiting Manager Interview (Neutral Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Schneider in July 2010.
Interview Details – It was first a phone interview, 2 weeks later a phone call to schedule an interview, 2 days later went for a 2 hour and 15 minute interview. 1st was another phone interview with someone a headquarters, 2nd was with the GM and the last was with the OM at the facility.
