    Interview

Got a phone call, talked for a while. Was a very unpleasant experience, I decided then and there not to continue. While I was offered a formal interview, I could tell by my phone conversation that I did not want to continue.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Spencer Ogden in December 2013.

    Interview

Pretty basic phone screening by a nice chap, followed by a slightly more serious and abrasive Skype interview. Was called back to come in for and on site interview. The process was a bit long, and was asked a mix of behavioral and stress test type questions. The interview wasn't incredibly difficult, at least not compared to other more technical interviews I have experienced. I can see where a lot of people get discouraged by the abrasive nature of the interviewers. To me, it seemed like they tried very hard to present themselves as a bunch of kids who are way more successful than they should be at this age, although they make it abundantly clear it is not easy. I felt like they were overselling the company and made it seem like the opportunity of a lifetime to work for them. In the end I just couldn't see myself enjoying the job or the company.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Spencer Ogden (Houston, TX) in March 2013.

    Interview

Group interview. One minute you're trying to pitch your fellow interviewees for the position you're all fighting for and the next you're throwing them under the bus by telling the interviewer why you're better for the job. Crazy! I had a couple one on one interviews after that with would-be managers.

    Interview Questions

    • Why are you better than the person you just pitched to me?   Answer Question

    Negotiation

Not much room for negotiation since they already give you quite a bit on base salary (considering the industry). I was able to get moving expenses as a loan until my first job placement commission check came in. They didn't have to do that, it was nice to have the support.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Spencer Ogden.

    Interview

As a referral, the process was quite simple. It was a couple of calls and face to face meetings with various managers and directors within the business. The first stage was a call with the Talent Director, who later referred me to the EMEA Director and then the Contract Director as well as the Perm Director. After this point, I had conversations with various team leaders to see which team I would fit into best.

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Spencer Ogden (Singapore (Singapore)).

    Interview

Swift interview - 1 week to complete everything. Assessment Centre style was given to most otherwise if you're slightly experienced or busy with another work, they may accommodate and do a 1-to-1 at your convenience. Ideally if you pass through the internal recruiter, the 2nd and 3rd interview should be a breeze from re-iterating what you mentioned in the first round and asking questions about the company. Lastly, each manager hires differently and look for different things. The internal recruiter's job is to sell you the job as well, be careful to be drawn in..

    Interview

Pretty standard recruitment consultant interview. First round over the telephone, asked for motivations etc. Second round "Dragons Den" - where you are pitted against other candidates to demonstrate competitiveness, ability to influence etc. Last round is a chat with a number of managers who will decide if they want you in their team.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Spencer Ogden in November 2014.

    Interview

It was the weirdest interview I've ever been to. I didn't feel comfortable disclosing information to them at all. The office was very pretty and I liked the environment a lot. I met a couple of new joiners there and they were all very nice. This was definitely different to the other rec firms I've been to. Out of all the recruitment interviews I've been to this has to be the worse. I spent most of the time interviewed by a very arrogant sounding recruiter (I guess he wanted me on his team) who claimed he only wanted to help me (he headhunted me on LinkedIn). Then he proceeded on grilling me on where I've interviewed at and how much they were offering me. Not only that but he started bad mouthing the other IT firms. I found that very unprofessional.

    Interview

very tedious process: 1 phone interview, 1 assessment, 2 rounds of interview with 3 managers very time consuming and unnecessary in my opinion. the assessment lasted for 3 hours or more, with various case studies and tasks to complete.

    Interview

If you are desperate for a job, apply. If you are not, don't waste your time. 1. Phone Interview (Singapore), she was a recent graduate and very immature and unprofessional. Talks over you and doesn't listen but passed the interview. 2. Came in for an Assessment Day however this was very long drawn out process 4-5 hours long. Complete waste of time and childish games. One-On-One just before you leave for the day, one question asked "How do you think you went?" then few mins of negative feedback of yourself (3-5mins). 3. Interview with a senior manager for 25 mins, he is well experienced and seemed like a nice guy then the rest of the interview for another 10mins with the Director (very young), This is the only time I thought it wasn't a waste of time.
