    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at St. Joseph Health System (Orange, CA) in May 2015.

    Interview

I applied in Feb, I got a call back in May19th. An interview was scheduled, but the supervisor had an emergency and failed to notify me or employees to cancel. I was contacted to reschedule. I was offered the position on the spot and was instructed to wait for HR to contact me. I was contacted by HR on June 29th to formally offer the position, the whole process was stressful they wanted me to provide my verification of employment to meet Start date. I was in no hurry to start July 20th but every day they called because Hire right was unable to get a hold of my previous employers ( they pretty much wanted me to do their jobs) I gave them as much information as I could then there was a whole CPR ordeal the whole process annoyed me. I got a call from them every single day until I just decided to withdraw my application.

    Reasons for Declining

The process was long and annoying, and I also received an offer at UCLA

    Precertification Coordinator Interview

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online – interviewed at St. Joseph Health System (Nashua, NH) in March 2013.

    Interview

The interviewer questioned me on my familiarity with medical terminology and basic clinical knowledge. Further, I was asked how I would be able to make a positive contribution to the department. This I answered with the statement that I can bring my clinical experience to the otherwise non-clinical precertification process, hence providing a more rounded approach to securing prior authorizations for high tech diagnostic imaging exams. The overall experience was very positive and satisfying.

    Interview Questions

    • How familiar are you with medical terminology?   1 Answer

    Negotiation

During this phase I provided a balanced expectation of compensation for my medical background in a reasonable manner - keeping in mind that this new field would focus more on clerical and less on clinical skills.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter – interviewed at St. Joseph Health System in May 2010.

    Interview

I received a phone call from an HR employee asking me to interview for a position as a case manager, although I had actually applied for a job as a staff nurse. I met the qualifications and that's how badly they needed to fill the position! The interview was 2 parts in the same day. I met with several members of the department, including 2 managers, around a table and they asked me a list of questions that I'm sure they asked everyone. "Tell us about an experience with a patient that changed you" is the only one I can remember now. I also met with the same woman from HR at a different office and she asked me more general questions. A few days later I received a call offering me the position and had to take a drug test, health physical etc.

    Interview Questions

    • "Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult situation and how you handled it" etc.   Answer Question
