Pretty standard, walk me through your resume. What are you strengths and weaknesses, why state street.

They also provided some more detail into the job to talk about the role and what the responsibilities would be. Nothing too out of the ordinary and was a quick process as well.

Nothing too difficult, they seemed pretty desperate at the time.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took a weekinterviewed at State Street (Sacramento, CA) in March 2015.

    Interview

I had an over the phone interview and after that they immediately scheduled me for an in-person interview at their Sacramento office. At the in person, they asked about my knowledge of the company, mutual funds, NAV, and a lot of behavioral questions. The in person was with three people from the company (mostly higher levels) and lasted about 40 to 45 minutes. I received an offer the following business day.

    Interview

They called me pretty quickly after i applied online. the recruiters were very helpful in establishing contact with specific teams or groups who were interested with me. The questions were read from a sheet that seemed very generic. As long as you talk about being a good teammate and a good co-worker, should get you into a good spot. The process was really good as I met with different teams all on the same day so multiple groups could meet with me instead of me coming in different day and times to meet them.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at State Street (Boston, MA).

    Interview

Info Session and Networking event that was a waste of time honestly. Met with a few managers who you most likely would not even be working for. Overall they just wanted to make sure you were able to speak and look like a professional. Then went back for a 2v1 interview where I answered basic questions and got an offer a week later

    Interview

Went to a State Street sponsored career info session. Left my application there after the session ended and was contacted for an interview. The interview process was very simple and easy, very basic questions like why you want to work here as this was an entry level position.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at State Street.

    Interview

Started with a phone interview with HR. Very basic questions - what is a mutual fund? What do you know about State Street?
Second interview was with group Vice President and group officer. There were a lot of situational questions to see how you think and problem solve.

    Interview Questions

    • All questions were pretty standard - nothing off the wall. The interview process was designed to get a feel for your personality and problem solving methodology.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

I was able to negotiate. They stated that the company does not negotiate, but with the help of this site, I was able to get a bump in pay after stating positive attributes. I thought over the original offer and didn't accept immediately.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral – interviewed at State Street (Boston, MA) in September 2014.

    Interview

Interview process was structured, Interviewer had prepared questions with specific scenarios based on Manager situations overseeing subordinate employees. an example question was how would you resolve a conflict with subordinates who were not getting along.

    Interview Questions

    • How would you handle crisis management issue related to team member that had personal issues not related to work.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

I thought the process was fair, they requested compensation history which I provided. They came in at 10% above my former salary and extended an extra week of vacation and much higher bonus pool.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at State Street (South Boston, MA) in September 2014.

    Interview

Applied online and heard back in about 3 days to set up the interview. The process felt very robotic, two managers each with the same S.S form with questions. Never deviated from their prepared questions even after they realized I had already answered some.

    Interview Questions

    • I tried my best to make the interview feel like a conversation, but it just seemed very structured.   Answer Question

    Reasons for Declining

Didn't seem like a good fit for me. Very low salary offer and bad hours 10-630
