I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at SunTrust.

Interview Details – The usual phone interview from HR, then initial interview with manager, then final interview with area manager. They were very accomodating on the times and locations. Tried to meet where convient for me.

Interview Question – There were no surprise. Just study your usual interview "what would you do", or "what have you done" questions.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation. They just told me what I would make. Came to find out it was the lowest possible for that postition. You can find pay scaled for different markets on their intranet.

Interview Details – Very quick process for me, approximately "2" weeks from initial phone interview, to the final in -person interview.

Interview Question – What would you do if your manager was not available and a valued customer needed an exception on a large check being cashed. What do you think the bank policy would be? Is it better to follow abnk policy, or is it okay to make an exception with a high dollar client?   View Answer

Negotiation Details – There was none... I was offered slightly higher starting wage than what I had requested. Bonuses are also given if you meet and surpass your goal..

I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at SunTrust in March 2014.

Interview Details – Had an informal conversation with the branch manager about the branch, customers, requirements, etc. He gave me a basic description of the job, what my expectations would be, things about instore environment, and how it would be different from my current role.
I applied through indeed.com, uploaded my resume, and then you have to take a pre employment survey. Asks a lot of behavioral questions about how you work, with people, better motivated by money or recognition, etc.
After that is submitted, I received a call from the hiring department to ask me some more pre-employment questions. This is basically to see what kind of job you are in now, ask questions about requirements of you in that current job, your salary expectations, etc.
About a week later, I had a face-to-face with the branch manager. This was a very informal process because i'd spoke with him previously. After that, about a week later, I received another call from HR to schedule an interview with the area manager.
The area manager interview was mostly behavioral questions. Definitely look up STAR interview questions for this one. The area manager asked me a lot of how I worked in my previous role, what difficult situations had arisen, and how I overcame them.

After the last interview, about another week later, I received a call with the offer from HR. They would not budge on salary, but I was still working on a huge jump from my current role so I accepted happily.

Overall the process was a little lengthy because everything goes through the hiring department, but was well worth the work in the end.

Negotiation Details – No negotiation on the offer. Got in just below my salary request so I was ok with it.

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at SunTrust.

Interview Details – I had past banking experience so I had cash ordering experience for the vault on the teller line. Also I was familiar with selling and referring bank products. I felt very confident but not cocky and we laughed a lot as well on the interview. It was a simple discussion and felt like a conversation instead of an interview. The follow up interview was with the area manager and she asked about my background and again it felt like a discussion. I felt a little more pressure with the area manager but only because I was so excited. The process happened very fast and I got a call back within a few days with an offer.

Interview Question – The area manager was concerned because I was more operations instead of sales.

Just be relaxed, dress professionally, be the part and smile. I found that when I went in completely unprepared and clear headed is when I seem to have the best interviews. I have gone on many interviews because I like to keep my skills sharp, but just be calm, talk slow and clear. Be honest, and keep answers simple because you can "talk yourself out of a job".

Negotiation Details – I told them my bottom line based on my experience and they met it and even went slightly over what I was expecting. I even tried to negotiate a little bit but the offer they gave me was clearly final.

I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at SunTrust in January 2013.

Interview Details – First was a phone interview with a few basic questions just to qualify you and make sure you are worth the time to interview. Second was an interview with the branch manager that consisted of your basic interview questions straight off a interview check list they print off. Third was an interview with the area manager. This one was more of a meet and greet to make sure of the BM's selection, and to talk salary expectations to make sure you are all on the same page. Then came the offer followed by a drug test and background check.

Interview Question – Tell me about a situation in the past where you had to handled an angry customer, and how did you help them leave satisfied and even turn it into a sale.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Offered a range that I would like to be in, and they will tell you if you all are in the same ballpark. They will place your salary on your low end of the range but with bonus it can be more of where you want.

The process took 5 days - interviewed at SunTrust in September 2010.

Interview Details – Completed application online. Pretty standard for the industry. Was surprised there was not much to the "personality test". Received a call from HR rep a few days later. Phone interview was VERY easy. They want to hear you say "uncover needs".

Had interview at branch with manager. It was more of a "If I like you personally" interview. I felt like I got the job because the conversation went well on a personal level. He did ask a few questions about if I thought their goals were attainable.

Simple interview all things considered. Was surprised at the lack of behavioral questions.
