Retail Sales Representative at T-Mobile

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Saint Paul, MN Jan 2013 – Reviewed Apr 12, 2013

Interview Details – I applied via snagajob.com and was called for an interview within 4 days. I interviewed with the store manager and assistant manager for my first interview and was called back for a final interview with the same managers plus one more. The two interviews were very simple for someone with a sales back ground. I spoke of metrics and sales goals a lot and they loved that! I was hired verbally and via email later.

Interview Question – All questions were the usual senerio questions.   Answer Question

Retail Sales Representative at T-Mobile

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Temecula, CA – Reviewed Nov 26, 2012

Interview Details – The interview process is fairly basic. I had to take an online assessment that presents basic common sense sales and customer service related questions, followed by one interview, and then a background check. If there aren't any discrepancies with your employment history or felonies, you will receive a phone offer, followed by an over night shipped formal offer letter. The interview was with the store manager of the location that I applied for. Since being hired I had worked at multiple stores and learned that the hiring process can be somewhat discretionary based on the manager. If it is a high traffic store with a lot of applicants, the possibility of a 2nd/3rd interview is very likely to whittle down candidates to the best possible picks.

Interview Question – All questions are customer service/sales/basic ethics related. "Tell me about a time that a customer or client was unhappy with you or your company, and how did you handle the situation".   View Answer

Negotiation Details – They tell you how much they are going to pay you, and you either accept it, or don't get hired. I haven't heard of anybody the representative level negotiating salary higher than the Human Resources recommended amount.

Interview Details – I was interviewed by a guy in probably his late 20's early 30's. There were lots of questions about meeting sales goals and comments about how they would get you to meet these goals. I was asked questions like, "Do you think rules are important?" Would you ever not follow rules? He even asked if I would mind someone standing over my shoulder.

Interview Question – How I would react or would I have a problem with being closely monitored, ie standing over my shoulder if my sales goals were not met .   View Answer

Retail Sales Representative at T-Mobile

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Syracuse, NY Jun 2010 – Reviewed Aug 12, 2012

Interview Details – Must apply through the website and MUST use Internet Explorer. After applying, must complete an assessment which will be scored (but you never get to see your scores). Your application will then sit in a pool of other apps for six months until you can apply again. It is very important that you call the sites you are interested in and ask to schedule a time to speak with the site manager. You have to work to get the ball rolling.

Interview Question – Focus on answering how you can deal with and serve all types of people. Focus on how you love money and want to make a lot of it (this is how everyone above you gets paid).   View Answer

Negotiation Details – You will have very little negotiating power, but you may be able to push a little for a small increase from the starting base pay for someone in your area based on known metrics and experience if you can show it.
