I interviewed online. The process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Target in August 2014.

    Interview Details

applied online, got an email to set up a phone interview. A HR rep called at the time I had set up for the interview. She started by talking about herself... a lot. Then she asked me about my college experiences which was odd because I graduated from college 2 years ago. Other than that it was questions using the STAR system which she quickly explained (not in detail) and simple questions. The interview was done within 10 mins. I asked the interviewer a few simple questions having to do with the questions she asked me. ex: She asked if I would consider a position in a different geographic location. I asked her if their were any opening in different geographic locations. To which she replied." well no that's just something I have to ask, I'm just looking for candidates for the Tifton location." After I asked a few more questions that she didnt really have answers for she told me she sent me an email for an assessment I needed to complete and that I would hear about the position within a week. I took the assessment and 4 days later I get an email saying I am no longer being considered.

    Interview Questions
    • asked about my on campus experiences. I guess this was just to create a conversational tone to the interview but it was weird because I've been out of college for 2 years and had more recent experience that would have been better to speak about in the interview but when I tried to change the subject to my work experience, she seemed dissatisfied with my answers.   Answer Question

I interviewed through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Target in April 2014.

    Interview Details

Contacted via recruiter on LinkedIn. Talked with her twice, both times were basic questions following STAR format. She set up initial on site interview for the following week. I arrived early for the interview and the security guard told me there were no interviews scheduled for that day. I reassured him that there were indeed interviews and I was there for one. After he sorted things out I waited for twenty minutes for an HR representative. She escorted myself and one other applicant through the warehouse on a tour. She then brought us to an office area and had us wait for our interviews. There were three separate interviews. Each with two people. The first was with the engineering / automation team. The second with the logistics side and the third with inbound/outbound. All interviewers were very friendly and the interview was again STAR based.

I was contacted by a recruiter who did some initial background questions. I was then moved on to the next phase. I was as behavioral questions. I was then given a face-to-face interview. They ask a series of behavioral questions. Situation, Behavior, Result. I was interviewed by three groups of two people. I interviewed through college or university. The process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Target.

    Interview Details

Contacted Target at a University Career fair in February 2014. I was then contacted by a recruiter a few days later to set up an initial phone interview. The phone interview was with a Human Resource Director and took about 30-45 minutes. All the questions were behavioral questions looking for STAR answers (Situation or Task, Action that you took, and Results). I was required to take an online critical thinking and reasoning test, this took about 1 1/2 hours to complete. I was then offered an on-site interview at their distribution center, where I interviewed with various Managers and the General Manager. Same behavioral type questions were asked. I was offered an internship position 2 days later. The entire process took about 1 month.

    Distribution Operations Interview

I interviewed online - interviewed at Target in January 2014.

    Interview Details

I have about 3 years of high level experience in distribution center operations and the material handling equipment industry and applied for the distribution operations position with Target. I received an initial interview because I have a good resume for a young person but did not get offered a second interview. During the interview I got the impression this position was for a much more experienced individual as the interviewer mentioned this is an "executive level position". She also asked my salary requirements (which were ample) and when I told her she said "O, it would be much more than that" Overall I'm happy I received an interview but just don't have the experience yet.

The interview started with typical questions, "why are you interested", "why do you want to work for target" but the remainder of the interview was focused on leadership experiences and she really grilled me on what I enjoy about leading others and what my past experiences have been. Not as many behavioral questions like I expected.
