    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online – interviewed at Target.

    Interview

Very easygoing and basic. Typical questions about your personal background, goals, and skills as well as some additional questions pertaining to information you provided on your application. The interview took about 15-20 minutes and was in two parts; the first part was with the HR Team Leader and the second was with the Flow Team Leader who happened to be in during the day and I was under the impression that was a rare occasion and a fluke. Don't bother worrying about being impeccably groomed and dressed for a position like this or you will look uptight and like an idiot, as I did. I spoke with coworkers and most said just a clean button down and slacks will suffice. They typically hire you on the spot because they are so desperate for people to take this awful position.

    Flow Team Member Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Target (Bloomington, IN) in June 2015.

    Interview

I applied at an in-store kiosk. I got a call a few days later to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview was straightforward, but definitely prepare for the situational questions that they will ask you - literally all the questions I was asked are on Glassdoor. I then was scheduled to come in for an in-person interview a couple days later. That interview was pretty much the same as the one over the phone, several situational questions for which they wanted specific examples. As soon as the interview was over, the person interviewing me told me he would get someone from HR to write me up a job offer.

Got a phone interview then a interview at the store. They ask you simple situation experiences you had while working/or school. Not very hard just think about what you say before you start rambling on and on. Ask questions when needed and you will get the job

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 daysinterviewed at Target (Redondo Beach, CA) in May 2015.

    Interview

Applied and received a call regarding my application only a week later. They left a message and I called back and was offered an interview early Monday morning. Got to target before it opened so I rang the doorbell at employee entrance. Was greeted and led to a bench to sit and wait. Was lead through the break room/ offices to a training classroom setting where I watched a quick less than 5minute video about what the back room job looked like. Was then taken to an office and interviewed with not HR but instead two members of the overnight team (I think I was supposed to interview with HR but she wasn't available). My interviewers seemed more nervous than me. I made it comfortable by offering small talk while I filled out paper work. They asked me about myself and then a number of situational questions. They gave me time to answer, but coming up with answers on the spot was sometimes hard. Full interview was probably 30mins. Left feeling alright, if anything I thought my not so open schedule would be a problem. I got a call back the next day and was offered the job at $9.75/hr pending my background check. Will go to orientation once the bg check goes through. HR that called to offer was really friendly.

    Application

I applied online – interviewed at Target (Phoenix, AZ) in May 2015.

    Interview

Went into the store and waited in a office area for the interview, after a few minutes I was greeted by my interviewers and we went into another room for the interview. It was a very relaxed atmosphere but I still felt a little nervous since it was my first time doing this. The interview lasted for about 20-30 minutes or so. Most of the questions they asked were mainly situational ones.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ weekinterviewed at Target (Saint Louis, MO) in May 2015.

    Interview

The online application has a fairly lengthy multiple choice personality test. If you pass that, they call and set up a phone interview. Mine only lasted about 10 minutes. An HR manager asked me first why I wanted to work at Target, then described the job and asked if I was willing to fulfill all those duties. She then asked about 3 "tell me about a time" questions. At the end she said she liked me, and that she'd have someone else call to schedule my in-person interview. That began with a computer questionnaire. A few other people were interviewing and one of their two computers was broken so there was a bit of a backup. While we were waiting, the flow team lead came over to talk to us. Not formal interview, just introduced herself, talked a little about flow, and asked if there were particular areas we were interested in/had experience with. The questionnaire was harder than I expected. It was all math problems based on reading different types of graphs. Then there were a couple questions where the answers made absolutely no sense. One you were supposed to find a percentage, and all of the answers were some format like "&#23=x2." I felt like I must have been missing something! I mentioned it afterwards to someone working there and they said it was not like that when they took it, and maybe there was an issue with that computer too. The ETL (store manager) then came out to get us 1 by 1. He first asked if I was willing to promote Cartwheel app and Redcard, and then what my former supervisor would say is my weakness. He then asked several more "tell me a time" questions. They were all fairly open ended. I think they are trying to get a sense more for who you are and how you work, than how you respond to those exact situations. He also made small talk throughout. At the end, he offered me a job. Then an HR person came in, had me sign off on pay, and told me about orientation and said they would call me to schedule it. Everyone was very friendly and professional.

    Overnight Flow Team Member Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Goldsboro, NC

    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 dayinterviewed at Target (Goldsboro, NC) in April 2015.

    Interview

I filled out an online application. The next morning someone called me in for an interview for the following Friday. I show up ten minutes early at Guest Service and they tell me to go wait inside the coffee shop and someone will be with me shortly.

After waiting AN HOUR I approach the people at Guest Services again to make sure I wasn't forgotten about. The girl behind the counter was very nice and after checking for me, another girl came out and apologized and said the person I was supposed to interview with wasn't EVEN THERE!! And that the other person who was going to interview me got tied up in the back.

She asked me if I could come back on Monday....Today is Monday and I plan on editing or resubmitting my interview info.

To be honest, it made me wonder about how they treat their employees. I was waiting all that time and feel like it would have only taken a moment for someone to let me know about the mix-up instead of just letting me sit there. MY TIME is valuable too. At the same time, it would appear they do need help so maybe they can be more organized.

    Interview

I applied online. I got a call a few days later and scheduled an interview for the next day. I went in and was asked to wait. I waited about ten minutes until someone finally came and took me into an office. I did the interview and was asked to wait in the break room for the second interview. I waited about fifteen minutes until the same person from the first interview came back and said there wasn't time to do the second interview. They told me to expect a call, but instead I got an email saying they could not offer be the position at this time.

Honestly, because I didn't get to do the second part of the interview, I felt a little bit cheated. It was about lunch time, so I couldn't help but wonder if the person doing my second interview was out at lunch.
