I applied online and interviewed at Target.

Interview Details – I applied online on a Tuesday, and got called a few hours later to schedule an interview for the next day, Wednesday. However, I couldn't make it to the Wednesday interview and scheduled it for Friday morning instead. When I walked into Target, I was required to do a questionnaire. After that, I told them I was finished, and I was directed to go upstairs. I had 2 interviews right after another, the first with the head of cashiers, 2nd with someone who was a little higher in management rank. Before the 1st interview, between the two interviews, and after the 2nd, I was asked to wait in the break room, which I did. While I was in the break room I was able to talk to some current employees who were all very nice. As I was waiting after the 2nd, someone from HR told me that I'd be called in a couple days for notification of if I got the job or not, because they have to compare all the applications. Overall, a good experience. But after reading many reviews on this website, it seems that the people who did get the job, got hired on the spot.

Interview Question – They were all pretty straightforward questions. Why Target, strengths and weaknesses, when you exceeded expectations, when you made a mistake/what was the solution, and then some situational questions. The two interviews had identical beginning questions, but the situational questions were a bit different.   Answer Question

Guest Services Team Leader Interview

Guest Services Team Leader

I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Target in June 2014.

Interview Details – I applied for the position online one Saturday afternoon and was contacted the following Tuesday and asked to come in for an interview the next day. I had three separate interviews in the store. The first and second were with Executive Team Leaders and the last one was with the Store Manager. After interviewing with the Store Manager, I was told that I would be contacted by the area's Head HR Representative for a phone interview. The phone interview took place the next day and afterwards I was offered the job and told that someone would be contacting me soon. Within an hour after the phone interview I was contacted by the store and asked to come in the following day to complete employment offer paperwork.

I applied online and the process took 4 days - interviewed at Target in May 2014.

Interview Details – I applied on Friday and received a call, which was a mini interview it seemed like. I was scheduled for an in person interview on Monday. I went in and everyone was extremely nice. I first interviewed with Sales Floor Team Leader. She was extremely nice and relatable so the interview seemed more like a conversation. She asked me to tell her about myself, why I wanted to work for Target, basic interview questions. She was really pleased with my answers and so she took me back to the break room and had someone set me up to watch a video. After the video, I had another interview with an ETL who was also extremely nice. Basically asked me the same questions along with a few behavior questions. Just watch the video and pay attention and you'll do fine. After, I was hired on the spot and went to go do my drug testing.

Interview Question – When was a time you made a mistake on a project and what did you do to correct it?   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I didn't negotiate. I was offered $8.00/hr.

I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Target in September 2010.

Interview Details – All applications can be found at target.com/careers. Some stores might have paper copies of applications, but it's becoming rare. Your first contact with Target will be a phone call from the HR rep at the store you applied. He or she will set up an interview team either in person or on the phone. You will go through two interviews if they like you and you will be hired.

Interview Question – "Describe one time that you (as a worker) had to fight for something in the workplace."   View Answer

I applied online and the process took 2 days - interviewed at Target.

Interview Details – Applied online - had in store interview. Had to of waited over an hour, was asked if I was on food stamps or disabled vet, family assistance and if so I might be hired a lot faster than someone who has years of CS and cashiering experience, dresses decent and speaks well. Why? Because Target gets tax credits for hiring people who are struggling and need a job to feed themselves or their families....and so can still offer them $8.00 hour or less knowing this and also give a .11cent raise every year for their service.
Regretted my application submission immediately.

Interview Question – Do you mind standing, bending and lifting for 8 hours straight a day for $8hr...or what about the nasty rude customers you will encounter on a daily basis. How about the part-time no benefit package we have for you?   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – Got to watch a new video they have on each of the department positions and basically stated in each one how much of a workout one will get so you won't need to go to the gym....so basically you'll get a real a8s working wherever you're placed for the low wages they offer.
