    Interview

I attended a hiring event, so once you filled out your application, you went straight in for an interview. It felt like the biggest thing they were looking for was a very open, flexible schedule. They really need employees who can work all shifts including evenings and weekends. The interview was one on one, and was very simple and straightforward.

    Interview Questions

    • They ask a lot of questions to try and determine your trustworthiness and morals.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

No negotiation. Simple starting hourly wage across the board.

    Interview

The hiring and interview process was great, if one person isn't sure they will have you talk to several different people. The questions are pretty much the same wherever you go.

    Interview

I applied online and called a few days later to check up on my application process. They told me to come in the next week to interview and to wear red and khakis. When I got there I went to the Guest Service counter and they sent me to the break room. A few minutes later the HR Rep called me back into their office where he went over my work history. He asked some questions and sent me to an LOD's office. She asked some more questions and then sent me to another HR Rep. This HR Rep told me that the interview was over and told me all I had to do was negotiate a salary. They offered $7.75 and I was more than happy with it considering the minimum wage in my state is $7.25. After that, they gave me a form and sent me off to a drug testing lab on the other side of town that I had to have completed within the following 24 hours. Overall it was a good experience.

    Interview Questions

    • The questions were pretty average. One that I remember is: If you ring up and item for $20 and the guest insists it is supposed to be $10, what do you do?   1 Answer

    Negotiation

Easy breezy! They offered $7.75 an hour and I accepted.

    Interview

I applied online on a Tuesday, and got called a few hours later to schedule an interview for the next day, Wednesday. However, I couldn't make it to the Wednesday interview and scheduled it for Friday morning instead. When I walked into Target, I was required to do a questionnaire. After that, I told them I was finished, and I was directed to go upstairs. I had 2 interviews right after another, the first with the head of cashiers, 2nd with someone who was a little higher in management rank. Before the 1st interview, between the two interviews, and after the 2nd, I was asked to wait in the break room, which I did. While I was in the break room I was able to talk to some current employees who were all very nice. As I was waiting after the 2nd, someone from HR told me that I'd be called in a couple days for notification of if I got the job or not, because they have to compare all the applications. Overall, a good experience. But after reading many reviews on this website, it seems that the people who did get the job, got hired on the spot.

    Interview Questions

    • They were all pretty straightforward questions. Why Target, strengths and weaknesses, when you exceeded expectations, when you made a mistake/what was the solution, and then some situational questions. The two interviews had identical beginning questions, but the situational questions were a bit different.   Answer Question

    Interview

Applied online - had in store interview. Had to of waited over an hour, was asked if I was on food stamps or disabled vet, family assistance and if so I might be hired a lot faster than someone who has years of CS and cashiering experience, dresses decent and speaks well. Why? Because Target gets tax credits for hiring people who are struggling and need a job to feed themselves or their families....and so can still offer them $8.00 hour or less knowing this and also give a .11cent raise every year for their service.
    Regretted my application submission immediately.

    Interview Questions

    • Do you mind standing, bending and lifting for 8 hours straight a day for $8hr...or what about the nasty rude customers you will encounter on a daily basis. How about the part-time no benefit package we have for you?   Answer Question

    Reasons for Declining

Got to watch a new video they have on each of the department positions and basically stated in each one how much of a workout one will get so you won't need to go to the gym....so basically you'll get a real a8s working wherever you're placed for the low wages they offer.

I applied online. The process took 4 daysinterviewed at Target (Cleveland, OH) in May 2014.

    Interview

I applied on Friday and received a call, which was a mini interview it seemed like. I was scheduled for an in person interview on Monday. I went in and everyone was extremely nice. I first interviewed with Sales Floor Team Leader. She was extremely nice and relatable so the interview seemed more like a conversation. She asked me to tell her about myself, why I wanted to work for Target, basic interview questions. She was really pleased with my answers and so she took me back to the break room and had someone set me up to watch a video. After the video, I had another interview with an ETL who was also extremely nice. Basically asked me the same questions along with a few behavior questions. Just watch the video and pay attention and you'll do fine. After, I was hired on the spot and went to go do my drug testing.

    Interview Questions

    • When was a time you made a mistake on a project and what did you do to correct it?   Answer Question

    Negotiation

    I didn't negotiate. I was offered $8.00/hr.

    Interview

After filling out an online application, I heard back from Target within the month. I received a call from the Guest Service Team Lead and had a phone interview on the spot. At the end of the phone interview we scheduled an in person interview with the STL (store team lead). I was offered the job during the interview with the STL.

    Interview Questions

    • What was one time when I excelled at what I was doing, what was it and how did I go above and beyond?   1 Answer

    Negotiation

I was offered 8.00 per hour. There was no negotiation.
