I applied online. The process took a day - interviewed at Target in August 2013.

    Interview Details

There are initially 2 interviews the first interview I received was with the team lead of the front end and the second was with the human resources team lead. They ask the basics such as why do you want to work for this company and what certain words mean to you. I would say the crucial part was making sure you can break the barrier with the first interviewer so as long as the interviewee strives to work hard or is very sincere in their willing to learn as well as quality to lead

    Interview Questions
    • The questions are not difficult its more about how your previous job or experiences will match what they are looking for in their employees there is no specific because most of the time they ask something like what past experiences do you have that you think would be beneficial to this job. How do you answer that question? Tell them about what customer service or what you did in school that helps others of that sort   Answer Question

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Target in October 2013.

    Interview Details

I applied online a few weeks ago, and I got a call about 2 weeks later asking to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview was scheduled 5 days later.

I never received the call for the interview so I called back the same day asking them what happened. The woman said she'd call HR first thing the next morning to let them know. I waited the next day and finally got a call from HR saying she was sorry because they were busy. We did the phone interview then.

All questions were found on this site so I was prepared.

Why do you want to work for Target?
What would a former supervisor or teacher say is your greatest weakness and what you could improve on?
Tell about a time you realized you made a mistake and what was the outcome?

After the questions, she said I should receive a call by the end of the week. I got a call the next morning saying they wanted to schedule a face-to-face interview.

I got there early to fill out a 20 question assessment on the computer. Then someone came out and took me into a room with tables and a TV to watch a short video about Target. Then she came back in and took me into her office to start the interview.

She was very nice and made me feel comfortable. Some questions were the same and there were some others as well.

    Tell me about yourself.
Why do you want to work for Target?
    Strengths/something you can improve on
Tell about a time you realized you made a mistake and what was the outcome
If a woman and her son couldn't find the shoes they wanted on the floor, what would you do?
A customer insists something is $17.99 even though it's actually $19.99, what do you do?

After that, she left the room for me to call a number for taxes. When she came back she offered me the position. I needed to take a drug test within 24 hours, and orientation was scheduled the next week:)

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Target.

    Interview Details

Received a call to schedule phone interview with a team leader within a week of submitting my application. Phone interview was simple and quick only about 10 minutes long. Was 4 asked questions.
    1. Why Target?
    2. What would a pervious employer say is your greatest strength and greatest weakness?
    3. Tell me about a particular time you had to work well as a team.
    4. Tell me about a time you gave great customer service.
Received a call later that afternoon asking to schedule in-person interview for the following Monday.
Went in Monday and met with an Executive Team Leader. Watched a short video. Pay attention to it! Then had m interview. Asked 3 questions.
    1. Tell me about a time you made a mistake.
    2. If an item is ringing up 19.99 and the customer swears its 17.99, what would you do?
    3. If a customer is looking for a shoe but we no longer carry the size or make what would you do?
I guess she liked my answers. Said she would be back in a few minutes and then in came the HR lady. She said that the ETL I interviewed with wants to offer me a job on the sales floor but there are no hours for that position but if I wold start as a cashier, then transition to sales floor when it become available. Of course! Went home with my job offer and had to take my drug test the following day since I was interviewed on Labor Day. Just waiting on orientation now.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Target in November 2011.

    Interview Details

I applied during the holidays and it really easy to get picked up. All you gotta do is apply online and during the questionnaire on the online test be confident in you're answers. So they called me within 3 days after applying online for a interview the following week. Interview takes place in the morning and when i showed up there were probably five other people waiting to get interviewed to. I waited in the break room for like 30 mins until one of the supervisors came to pick me. This was my first interview and i was very nervous and by the end of the interview the supervisor told me that just to be very upbeat and positive and keep answers short. Waited in the break room again for five minutes. The Hr manager came to pick me up and asked me the very same questions as the supervisor. She was also really nice and offered me the job.

The first interview that I had was with a team leader. They were the normal open end questions that a lot of employers ask to try to get you to talk about yourself, such as tell me about a time that a member of your team was not pulling his or her weight. what did you do? The next step is with an ETL then HR.
