They both took aout an hour each, and the questions were very basic behavioral questions. The position is geared towards people who are looking to become retail managers in the future. In October I attend a career fair on campus, and dropped off my resume with a Target recruiter. After reviewing my resume, she signed me up for a on-campus interview. The interview took place one week later and consisting of STAR (Situation Task Action Result)and Behavioral questions. The interviewers are looking for detailed, but concise examples of how you handled an issue. In other words use examples that have a clear path of problem evaluation, problem solving, and problem outcome. Two weeks later I received an emailing letting me know that I had moved on to a second interview, this time with a district manager. The set up was exactly the same, just with slightly different questions.
As a word of advice they are looking for strong leadership and teamwork examples. Make sure to let your personality show through (Target's motto is fast, fun, and friendly), research the company and the position, and have confidence in your credentials.

Reason for Declining – I am a fashion merchandising major, and this job role simply isn't creative enough for me. Great experience being an ETL intern though; prepared me for the real world and handling corporate politics. Make your voice heard and support it with your actions.

The hiring process for me consisted of two 1 on 1 interviews, one in New York and another in California and an online assessment. It was purely behavioral and lasted around 30 minutes. The interviewer was very nice and personable. He walked me through what to expect during the interview and explained that, for each question, he wanted me to respond using the STAR method (situation-task-action-result). There were about 10 behavioral questions total, some more difficult than others, but they were all standard questions.
After the first interview, I was told I had advanced to the next round and was asked to fill out an online assessment consisting of some quantitative and critical thinking questions. I was then invited to interview at a regional office in Los Angeles since that's where I wanted to intern. I met with three different individuals from the HR team, who were also really friendly. They asked me more behavioral questions and went more in depth to find out why I wanted to work at Target and what past experiences that have prepared me for the job.
About a week after the interview, I got an offer from the recruiter. The interview process was smooth and organized. The only downside was that there was a long wait during the second interview. It took almost 4 hours going for one interviewer to another and waiting for the next person to be ready.
