Interview Details – Target is known for behavioral interviews. If you pass the phone screening, the recruiter will ask you to come in for in-person interviews. During this phase, you will interview with approximately 4-6 interviewers for 30 minutes each. The interviewers will range from VP to Group Manager, HR level. During the behavioral interview questions, they will look for you to provide 1) the situation, 2) the behaviors or process that you went through to resolve the situation, and 3) the outcome (whether positive or negative). Special Note: If you are interviewing for a role that will supervise others, you will be asked to take a Leadership Assessment which takes approximately 5 hours to complete. You will do the computer based personality and cognitive portions on your own computer (3-4 hours) and when you come in for your in-person interviews, they will set up an 1 - 1.5 hours for you to do a simulation of a specific scenario. You should receive feedback within 2 weeks on a decision. If you are offered the position and accept, you will have 24 hours to take the drug test.

Interview Details – I applied online and received a call the next day to set up an interview. The interview was set for a few days later. I read up on all of the interviewing tips on glassdoor and they helped A LOT. I was asked about my background and a few situation questions. You are expected to answer the situational questions in a specific format and that is STATE THE PROBLEM, STATE THE STEPS YOU TOOK TO OVERCOME THE PROBLEM, STATE THE OUTCOME. If you follow this, you will do well. The woman who interviewed me was really laid back and made me feel comfortable and confident. We went back to a small office where she interviewed me. The interview itself was only about 15 minutes but she told me right at the end that she would like me to come back for a second interview to meet with her boss. At the second interview, I felt much more comfortable. The HR ETL just asked me a few personal questions and did a bit of a follow up on the questions from my first interview. It was really easy.

No Offer – Interviewed in Tyler, TX Apr 2011 – Reviewed Jul 27, 2011
Interview Details – Target does "internal" postings when someone leaves. Even though they always post in the newspapers first. I have applied about four times for multiple hourly positions just trying to move up. It seems impossible. The questions are a little difficult. They want them to be job related but I do not have any office experience...thats where Im trying to go. But the hr team is really nice and help you feel comfortable. The questions consisted of... Tell me a time you had an issue with an employee, Tell me a time you made a mistake and what did you do to fix it. They want a three step answer state the problem, the steps you took to fix it and the outcome of your decision. Its quite difficult. I have failed multiple times especially the first interview. But its a leaning proccess. They say I do well at the interviews but they want someone that has a leadership attitude its a hard to obtain leadership skills when there is only a few leadership roles for hourly tefam member. But they give you great feedback each time and encourage you to keep trying. Overall it was and is a good experience.
