After submitting a resume online, the manager called me, and we set up a time for an interview. The interview was chill -- asked me about my experience. And I had to "sell" something to the manager.

Being a team member is super important part of the interview. If you want to impress the manager you need to express how you are willing to learn. Even though I knew nothing about tea, I let the manager know that I am a team player and willing to learn more.

You go to the store and usually they will think you are person selling tea and try to sell to you After you inform them you are there for the interview they will take you outside, in my case , and sit down with you. They will have your application and begin asking you questions of sale goals, what you do in your days, etc. Just be yourself.

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Teavana in August 2012.

    Interview Details

Prior to my interview, I had submitted an application online, turned in a resume in person, and talked to the manager of the store I was applying for. Within a week, I had gotten and interview call and met with the assistant manager for a first interview.

We sat down at a coffee shop and she asked me the standard battery of questions, such as "why do you want to work here" or "what was your prior work experience and how do you think it will help you in this job." The interview was for a sales position, so I highlighted my people skills and customer service experience in my answers. I only had one interview and was offered the job the next day, although there are usually two interviews before they give you an offer.

As an employee, I know that a standard part of the interview process is where the interviewer makes applicants stand at the front of the store by the tea cart and has the applicant attempt to bring customers into the store to try the teas. This is to test your ability to approach strangers and demonstrate professional competence. Applicants are also made to sample the two teas at the front of the store and asked to describe the flavors. You are also required to remember the teas and some factoids about them. The more you remember the better.

I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Teavana in July 2012.

    Interview Details

I got a phone call for an interview next week. We were told to show up 15 minutes early. The interview itself took place in the mall's noisy and non-private,food court (I know, how professional) in a group. We each took turns answering questions and the interview itself took about an hour which is way longer than what I suspect the timeliness of a group interview should be.

    Interview Questions
    • They wanted to hear very detailed accounts of your sales or "goals" experience (if you had no sales experience) more so than expected. The assistant manager probed about sales goals numbers, if they were met, etc.   Answer Question
    Negotiation Details
There was no room to tell them I did not have full availability since that was the only thing they were looking for at the time and the pay rate seemed to be solidified.

I submitted my application online and a couple of weeks later I got called in for an interview. When I went in everyone was really nice and they made me a cup of tea to have while on the interview which was nice. I then sat with the manager and he asked me about myself, why I wanted to work at Teavana, and what I would like to be doing in 5 years. The interview was overall really nice.

I received a call that I was granted an interview scheduled for the following Monday. When I arrived for the interview I asked for the manager and he greeted himself and asked if I would like a cup of tea while he set up everything. While I waited I talked to the employees and everyone seemed really cool and cheerful. We headed out to a couch in the mall where the interview commenced. He asked me questions like what I thought about my previous job, and what I did there, and what I would like to do in the future. Then something really unexpected happen. He started asking me if I had any questions, LIKE 10-15 times! So I started questioning everything about the job and business alike which I think impressed him.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Teavana in February 2012.

    Interview Details

I was originally contacted by the assisstant manager, and had an interview with him two days later. The interview went smoothly with all typical interview questions. I did think it was add that the person who interviewed me only had two more days working at that store. I received a call a few days later from the general manager telling me that I was not what they were looking for at the moment. I received another call less than a week after that from the same person offering me the position. The entire process seemed very unorganized, which I soon realized was normal for this organization.
