Cashier Front End Interview

I applied online and the process took 5 days - interviewed at The Home Depot in May 2014.

Interview Details – Interview are very straightforward and relatively easy to get through. Just keep in mind that this is TEAM your joining. If you center everything around being a team player. This should be a slam dunk interview for you. Plus, Home Depot is currently on a hiring binge, so, there is no better time to seek employment with this company.

Interview Question – Name a time when you had to do something you didn't like and how you dealt with it?
What do you see yourself doing in the next 2-3 years?
  View Answer

Negotiation Details – There is really NO negotiating for salary, especially if you're part time. They do start you at a good wage with the opportunity of earning overtime, time and a half, and double time pay( usually around the holidays)

Home Depot Cashier Interview

I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at The Home Depot in January 2014.

Interview Details – The interview is very straight forward and takes about 20 minutes or less. They ask you a lot of questions about your experience dealing with customers as well as to identify your strength and weaknesses. Following the interview, if they offer you a position the process takes two weeks. They will send you to take the drug test and once the results come back they will call you back in to complete paperwork and get started with training. Training is a lot of computer work, so be prepared to stare at a screen for a long time.

Interview Question – How would you deal with an irate customer?   Answer Question

I applied online - interviewed at The Home Depot in December 2010.

Interview Details – The interview is fairly simple. First you do a phone interview with some basic questions about work history. then you have an in store interview. Both are quite short. The store interview has you ask a few scenario questions and you do a mock right up, sometimes. That part of the interview changes store to store.

Interview Question – The most unexpected part for me was the mock ringing up of a customer.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – There was very little negotiation since it is a cashier position.

I applied online and the process took 2+ weeks - interviewed at The Home Depot in March 2012.

Interview Details – Online application and then telephone interview to get a sit down interview in the store. Basic questions about experience and where I might want to go. Interview was somewhat lengthy and seemed like it was maybe the same questions for anybody and everybody. Effort is needed to make your answers apply and stick.

Interview Question – Some lengthy questions require much more than a yes or no and/or a recital of application and resume information.   View Answer

I applied in-person - interviewed at The Home Depot in August 2012.

Interview Details – Typical interview questions, "Name a time where you set a goal and finished the project, etc" Series of these questions are asked and they jot down your answers. They want you to have open available so they stress that through out the interview. Nothing too out of the norm, you'll met with the associate coordinator and then you'll interview with an assistant or store manager.

Interview Question – Nothing is difficult. If you get called in for an interview it's a given you've got the job.   Answer Question
