I applied through a recruiter - interviewed at Thomson Reuters.

    Interview Details

Initial interview was on the phone for 1/2 hour. Most questions technical, not behavior oriented. Specific c++ features, such as templates and virtual classes. Second interview on site for 3 hours. Most of interview spent at white board coding c++. Some questions were write a function that swapped the characters in a string, and a function that shifted a character in a string by one, I.e. last character now first. Also describe algorithm to search a matrix of numbers sorted on each row, then what is the performance of that algorithm. In all cases interviewer walked through solution and asked for improvements. Last part of interview had design question about adding a feature to a system without modifying existing class due to large amounts of legacy code. Also some behavior questions, like describe most difficult problem and how you solved it. People very nice, casual atmosphere.

    Interview Questions
    • Matrix search algorithm since that didn't seem relevant to job. It is a well defined problem that could be looked up in algorithm book. Must confess I don't know every documented algorithm.   Answer Question

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a day - interviewed at Thomson Reuters in January 2012.

    Interview Details

It's a tough interview, mainly b/c I didn't prep for the subjects they were asking.
They asked about how to write a program with classes to simulate real life objects. That was easy.
Then they went on to ask about Big O notation and its complexities and use them to optimize your approach to a solve a problem.

If I knew they were going to ask about that, I would have been in a better situation.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a day - interviewed at Thomson Reuters in March 2014.

    Interview Details

I got a call from the HR with reference to my resume in a Job portal and scheduled a F2F interview on a weekend. The interview happened in the Yamlur road office in Bangalore.

    Interview Questions
    • The interview process was good but the questions were too theoritical. For a 6+ years professional in Java/J2EE they had a couple of ladies with barely 3 years of experience in the panel.
      1) What is the Servlet class hierarchy?
      2) What will happen if you call Servlet's destroy method from init method?
      3) Design a class diagram and write the high level logic for a game of chess

I found most of the questions were from a website in the list of J2EE interview questions. And these ladies were not ready to take any answer other than whatever they see in the website or think is correct.

Please have people with good understanding on technology and enough experience in the panel

    Interview Details

Firstly, I got phone interview from HR, mainly talk about my work experience, why I want leave current commpany, what's my expected company/job, etc. This round of interview costs me about half an hour and most part of this talk is in english.

About 2 weeks after phone interview, I'm notified to attend F2F interview. There are 4 parts in the F2F interview. fistly, I have to finsihed a c++ paper test within an hour, 6 questions, not hard; then I was interviewed by a senior engineer about 40 mins and reuested to: talk about work experiences, answer some basic questions like template programming / design pattern/IPC, introduce a project I worked on deeply with drawing architecture on whiteboard, talk about some open questions like OOD/Refactory; then a technical manager came to me and asked questions like SW development process, teamwork, trouble-shooting and it lasted about 1 hour; then HR joined the interview and asked some soft skill questions and my expected salary and it laste about 15mins.
