The interview was about 45 minutes and went in a very natural way. They were conversational and loved to get to know more about you and why you are passionate about what you do. They looked to any experience that you have in order to see if you qualified. It went great and you get to meet some great people!

I was contacted following a career fair. First I had a 30 minute phone pre-screen with the recruiter going over my qualifications and goals. Then I had an hour interview with the recruiter and hiring manager where I was asked STAR behavior questions and then about my qualifications for the job. Everyone was very nice and respectful.

    Logistics Specialist Interview

I applied online. The process took 4 weeksinterviewed at Toyota in November 2014.

    Interview Details

I submitted a resume on their website and was contacted by a recruiter roughly 3 weeks afterwards who briefly went over my resume on the phone and scheduled an on-site interview for one week later.

I met with 2 Logistics Specialists or Route Planners in Assistant Management positions and the Supply Chain Manager. They gave me 3 minutes to talk about my work experience and were not shy about cutting me off when approaching that limit. After the not so realistic version of my experience we went through the standard STAR competency questions. "Tell me about a time where you collected data and evaluated the accuracy of it. Use 'I' not 'we'. This is your shining interview." "Tell me about a time when you managed a team to accomplish a goal." "Tell me about a time when you had to convince a group of people of an idea you had. How did you accomplish this?"

I normally could under the time limits except they started the interview 15 minutes late and ended it 15 minutes early. The 2 Assistant Managers were very nice but towards the end I must have misunderstood something one of them said and asked a question along the lines of "So sometimes you have to make decisions?" I put a bit of emphasis on the decisions piece but everyone immediately began looking at me very strange... So I, of course, returned their strange looks with one of my own. The Supply Chain Manager then began to condescendingly ask "What? Decisions? Umm... no. This isn't that kind of position." I have no idea what they thought I meant but I was appalled by the lack of professionalism at this point so simply said I had no other questions so I could leave.

The entire situation was very disappointing especially coming from a company like Toyota that I have very deep respect for. I am confidant that these managers may have just already made a decision on someone else but I took much more time out of my life and current job to come all the way there for the interview and only got half of one.

    Interview Questions
    • Really nothing difficult... None of the managers had anything to ask outside the 3 STAR competency questions.   Answer Question

They are looking for very pushy sales people. This was in Lancaster, PA. The interviewer stated he needs very thick skinned people, and he curses his sales people out. In addition to this guy told me after he curses you out he doesn't hold grudges and he moves on. He was very polite with me, but was also very direct and honest.

    Co-Op Interview

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Toyota.

I was lucky to hear from my university about a co-op/internship opportunity at Toyota, so I jumped at the chance. Even though I was younger than what the employers expected (I was 19 and in undergrad), I got an interview nonetheless. During my first phone interview the interviewer asked me 3 very simple behavioral STARs questions: 1) Give me an example of a time you had to make a difficult decision, 2) Why do you want to work at Toyota, 3) What was one time you had a leadership role in something. It lasted a total of 15 minutes and then we scheduled a time for my second interview. The interviewer was very nice and calming, but it was a bit odd that she kept on forgetting my major and kept asking if I was getting my phD. My second phone interview was with 3 people of managerial positions. They were great and all introduced themselves and their work experiences. My entire interview consisted of me explaining every point of my resume in detail and it lasted a very long time-an hour and half. At the end I didn't get the position for that semester, but they did offer me an opportunity for the next semester. I didn't take it.

I got a call to come in for the initial typing test followed by a 30 minute behavioral interview. While I did not get a job offer I really appreciated the fact that they personally called me to let me know. Usually you either don't hear from a company at all or you just get an email.

I applied through college or university. The process took a weekinterviewed at Toyota in October 2013.

    Interview Details

Had an interview on campus after talking with a recruiter at a career fair. Mostly behavioral questions, nothing too out of the ordinary. Seemed like it went well, was told I would be contacted either way within the next day or two and never heard back. I've called the recruiter and one of the interviewers who gave me his card with no response back from either one. Not sure what happened.
