Interviewed at TransPerfect
Interview Details – The initial phone interview was standard but fast-paced. I interviewed specifically for Crimson Life Sciences, so after my interview they sent me a "test" of sorts to test my editing abilities. If you do well here, they set you up for a follow-up interview.
Interview Question – Why do you want to work in this part of the industry? Answer Question
I applied through college or university and the process took 5+ weeks - interviewed at TransPerfect.
Interview Details – I traveled 4+ hours to NYC twice to interview with HR reps at Transperfect. After the first interview there was a written test that mostly involved editing/proof reading some business documents -- not that difficult. After passing the test I was brought in for a second/final interview, which seemed to go very well. I met with an HR rep and a senior coordinator, who both asked me similar, standard questions. I was given very positive feedback

I applied through college or university and the process took 6 weeks - interviewed at TransPerfect in April 2013.
Interview Details – I sent my resume and heard from them quickly. I spoke with them on the phone and then I had to do an easy analytical test. After passing that, they scheduled a meeting with me in New York at their headquarters. The interview was relaxed. The people were very nice and made me feel comfortable. I spoke with about 4 different people and then I had to take a second analytical test. I do not know yet if i got an offer.
Interview Question – Nothing was out of the ordinary. Standard interview questions. Answer Question
I applied through a recruiter - interviewed at TransPerfect in March 2013.
Interview Details – The first interview was pretty run of the mill. You then had to complete a skills test which was simple, but took a long time. The second interview I met with the hiring manager as well as two Project leaders. The two project leaders were clearly not hired to do interviews and the process was very awkward.

I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at TransPerfect in January 2013.
Interview Details – Submitted resume. Heard back within the week. First step was a phone interview, lasted 15 minutes. Basic work experience and college questions. Then they gave a 2 part test. Finding errors in a document that was translated from Swedish to English. Finally an in office interview. Met with 5 different people was there for 5 hours. Given another editing test in office.
Interview Question – The tests. These are time consuming and boring. Answer Question
I applied through college or university and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at TransPerfect.
Interview Details – I submitted my resume and cover letter through an organization and was contacted for an in-person interview. The interviewer was kind enough and asked for my resume, which I provided. He proceeded to ask me the most generic questions you could expect from an interview. It was clear that he didn't care what the answers were and that he was just asking a prescribed set of questions. He didn't ask any follow-up questions or engage me in any way. He also made it painfully obvious that he had not read my resume by asking "So, I see here that you're (looks down and reads off the first job listed on my resume) X position for X company. Why don't you tell me how working there will prepare you for this job?" It felt entirely contrived and not at all like a real interview. He was dressed fairly informally compared to the representatives of others companies there (it was a job fair-type event) and didn't bring any business cards or provide a way to get in contact. I got the impression that he just didn't care and neither did the company.
Interview Question – None - all were run-of-the-mill Answer Question
I applied online and the process took 3 days - interviewed at TransPerfect in November 2012.
Interview Details – Sent me an email asking to schedule an interview. She as more interested to know about my personal life than to know if I was qualified for the job. She started the interview asking about my last work experience, then asked what area I wanted to work in the future after that was all personal questions. The interview lasted less than 10 min she didn't talk about the position or about what they were looking for, was really the worst interview I had in a really long time. I am glad they did not requested me for other interviews, I could see how much they do not care for their employees.
Interview Question – Personal questions...not pertinent to a job interview.
Why I was moving to CA?
Where my husband work?
Why I wanted to work somewhere far from where he lives? etc etc etc Answer Question
I applied through college or university and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at TransPerfect.
Interview Details – set up a phone interview then has a skills test that I passed and then was invited to the office for an in person interview.
The interviewers (3 total) were all extremely nice and easy to talk to. The HR recruiter definitely knew the right questions to ask and made me feel at ease to answer them. The other two managers were also easygoing although one in particular seemed to be asking a lot of questions without listening to the responses and therefore I repeated myself a lot... it seemed as if she was trying to throw me off or challenge me.
Overall, good interview process, nothing out of the ordinary.
Interview Question – pretty standard questions. Answer Question
