Specialized Investment Services Representative Interview

Specialized Investment Services Representative
Colorado Springs, CO

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at USAA in March 2013.

Interview Details – Their HR, at least for pre-hire and prescreening, is run by a 3rd party company. They barely speak English. The worst part is that they had me submit all of my military DD214's (yes I have a few), and then proceeded to tell me that they don't verify military experience. I asked them why they had me submit my DD214's to them if they don't verify military experience. I could not get a straight answer.

Financial Advisor Interview

Financial Advisor
San Antonio, TX

I applied online - interviewed at USAA in December 2013.

Interview Details – Apply on line. If they are interested they will send you an email to take a basic skills test. If I remember leaning toward some financial questions. Second I got a call to set up a telephone interview. The phone interview wasn't to difficult, I think it was more of a screening process. Then came drug testing and background check. The group panel was a little weird, because one of them is typing while you are answering a interview question. It can disrupt your train of thought if you are not focused.

Quality Assurance Specialist-Mortgage Interview

Quality Assurance Specialist-Mortgage
San Antonio, TX

I applied through other source and the process took 1 week - interviewed at USAA in March 2014.

Interview Details – Once I applied, I was selected for a Manager interview which consisted of 5 behavioral based questions. The interview itself lasted about 45 minutes, and at the end you are able to ask as many questions as you would like. I will note that they have another employee (typically a senior) in the room typing all of your answers.

Interview Question – Tell me about a time when you took initiative and demonstrated leadership.
What do you do better that others seem to struggle with?
Tell me about a time when you encountered a difficult situation; what did you do to overcome it?
What do you do in order to prioritize your work?

I applied online and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at USAA.

Interview Details – Applied for a few positions. I finally had an email to take an assessment. About a week later I had a phone interview, then was scheduled the next day for a manager interview. I thought it went well considering they sent me on a drug test. Called today to give the recruiter some information (more than a week after interview) and was told I was not being hired. Glad they never bothered to tell me. I guess talk a lot they apparently want you to ramble on or you are to quite in their opinion. Its called being professional not quite.

Software Developer III Interview

Software Developer III
Plano, TX

I applied through college or university and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at USAA in March 2014.

Interview Details – The process took about 2 and a half weeks. Met them at the career fair and was invited to dinner at a fancy restaurant. Had an on campus interview the next day which took about an hour. About half of the interview was behavioral questions and the other half were design questions.

I got invited out for a final interview at USAA in Plano. It lasted around 5 hours plus lunch. They went over benefits packages and the company vision, etc. Another 1 hour interview same as the first one. Felt good about the interview and they made me feel like I was getting a job. Got a rejection email 3 to 4 days later.

Interview Question – What is an innovation you can produce for USAA's customer service program?   Answer Question

Claims Adjuster Interview

Claims Adjuster
San Antonio, TX

I applied online and the process took 2+ weeks - interviewed at USAA.

Interview Details – After the application was filled out online I received an email to complete an online assessment. That consisted of a typing test and a "which best describes you" questionnaire. After this I was given a phone interview. The phone interview was questions such as: Tell me a time you had to deal with a difficult customer?, Tell me a time a decision didn't go as planned.
After the phone interview you go for a drug test and schedule an in-person interview. The in-person interview were essentially the same questions. During this process you are going through a background check also.

Interview Question – Tell me a time you led a group of people to reach a common goal.   Answer Question
